ABCD Training
Episcopal Community Services of Louisiana is pleased to sponsor a series of free ABCD trainings this fall, and welcomes lay and clergy leaders from all parishes in our Diocese to attend one of the trainings. ABCD is an approach to engaging effectively with the communities around us. It emphasizes building on the strengths and assets in our midst rather than being stymied by the tremendous needs. Each training will provide an overview of ABCD and allow participants to practice using skills and tools to apply these concepts to your own ministries and contexts. For Dates & Registration go to www.ecsla.org/abcd

Jericho Road's family of Homeowners Grows
Jericho Road's efforts at the Saratoga Square development on Martin Luther King Blvd. in New Orleans are paying off for the neighborhood! Two of the three newly constructed homes have sold! We have two very happy first time homeowners as new residents to Faubourg Lafayette in Central City, New Orleans! We'll share more information with you soon about who our newest Jericho Road homeowners are!
These three houses are all Energy Star rated houses, meaning they had to go through a series of tests and meet certain standards for energy efficiency. We are so excited to have met this mark and to be able to provide on-going savings to the beneficiaries of Jericho Road's work!
Take some time to drive around the 2000 block of Martin Luther King Blvd. in New Orleans - in addition to the houses Jericho Road has just completed, there are also six houses Jericho Road partnered with Enterprise Corporation of the Delta to build that are available for sale. This entire development has been supported by the Neighborhood Stabilization Program 1 administered through Louisiana Housing Finance Agency. This is a one-time source of funding that Jericho Road and Enterprise Corporation of the Delta were both fortunate to acquire. Jericho Road will finish out this project by beginning construction on the final four lots at the end of this year.
