About Project Clean Stream -- The restoration of the Bay region has many  facets, but a personal connection between residents of the watershed and their local stream or river may be the most vital. People will care for and protect the things they know and love. The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay works to create this connection by providing experiences that encourage committed people, communities, organizations, and  businesses to get involved. On April 14th, Project Clean Stream will aid in the restoration effort. Throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed, thousands of people will participate in this annual trash cleanup event coordinated by the Alliance and its partners. Come out to one of hundreds of cleanup sites and beautify the neighborhoods where you live and work. About the Watershed Stewards Academy -- The Academy trains and supports community leaders to serve as Master Watershed Stewards in the protection, restoration and conservation of our watersheds, working to reduce  the negative impacts of stormwater runoff in Anne Arundel County. If you live in Anne Arundel County, you can make a difference in the health of our waterways. At Green Drinks, watch for the folks in the yellow shirts and ask them how you can become a Steward too.

Here's the latest on tonight's event:
Our host: Homestead Gardens - We'll be in the midst of it's its Spring Open House, an event that includes beautiful flowers and many classes on many diverse topics.
Lots of Good Info: Green Drinks we will provide you with both information and options as you head out to YOUR lawn and garden ... to work in an Earth friendly way! Learn about volunteer opportunities for community-wide environmental projects in the County and City.
Who will be there: We'll be joined by the Anne Arundel County Watershed Stewards Academy and the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay to discuss the upcoming Project Clean Stream. Representatives of the City's GreenScape program will be there to give us information about the City's efforts to obtain a National Wildlife Federation Community Wildlife Habitat Certificate. Historic London Town and Gardens reps will be on hand too with information about their series of spring garden workshops. Also exhibiting will be the South River Federation and the Patuxent Riverkeeper. And the Marylanders Plant Trees program will have discount coupons you can use to buy a tree.
Shop: You can use the tree coupon plus the 20% off coupon will provide us to take advantage of shopping as the store will be open for business during our event. There have been some changes made at Homestead since our last visit. The late Don Riddle's son Brian is now at the helm, they've re-branded with a new logo, the store layout has been updated and reorganized, the café has been expanded, and they've opened their second store in Severna Park. Tomorrow, the beautiful "in-bloom" atmosphere will be there to greet us. It will be a lovely event.
 We'll be joined by and spoiled once again with complimentary, sustainable hors d'oeuvres generously provided by Honey's Harvest Market & Deli (Herrington Harbour South) and Killarney House! Kilarney is just down the road from Homestead and it's a GREAT place for a good Green meal after our event!
 Honey's Harvest South features fresh, healthy, and delicious breakfast and lunch sandwiches featuring Boar's Head's brand new All Natural deli meats, salads, soups, bakery items, beer, wine, spirits and a variety of groceries.

 New Belgium's organic Fat Tire Beer will be featured, thanks to our friends at Katcef Brothers. We might just have a special guest from New Belgium to tell us all about Fat Tire and what makes it organic! Mills Fine Wine and Spirits will conduct a wine tasting and will offer wine for sale at the cash bar. The wines are all either entirely organic or sustainable. Reds: Domaine Sanglier Vin de Pays, Rhone, France; Di Majo Norante Sangiovese, Tuscany; Finca Los Alijares Graciano, Spain. Whites: Wente Riesling, Livermore California; and Michel Torino Torrontes, Argentina. Why not be very green and bring your own wine glass? And don't forget your name badge if you have one.
