Don't Forget to Support Us Through

Mills Fine Wine & Spirits'

Community Rewards Program

Give us your Mills cash register receipts!

When you shop at Mills, at the foot of  Main Street in downtown Annapolis, save your cash register receipts and give them to us. Once a quarter we'll turn them in to receive a 5% rebate as a donation from Mills.

This generous offer costs you nothing and helps us continue to spread the word about environmental issues in Annapolis. And, a few times a year Mills will provide unique wine, spirit and beer offers specifically created for as special promotions just for Green Drinkers! It's a Win-Win! Please shop at Mills and save your receipts for us.

Bring us your Corks for Recycling!

Natural corks don't belong in a landfill. After they've done their job sealing in wine or champagne, they can have another life as part of shoes, flooring, and more. So although cork is a sustainable resource because the trees regrow the bark that is harvested -- why waste it?

annapolis green logo
Annapolis Green has partnered with recork.org to collect corks and send them to Recork for recycling. So bring them to our Green Drinks events from here forward and we'll make sure they get a second life!

This applies to natural cork only -- not the plastic ones!

Join us at our "Green Preview"

of Annapolis Restaurant Week!

February 20 - 26 is Annapolis Restaurant Week when we celebrate the great local restaurants we have along with terrific fixed price lunch and dinner (and some breakfasts) to entice us to eat out. Our host is the Annapolis Grill, a relatively new player in the local restaurant scene.

The Annapolis Grill has committed to begin the process of environmental stewardship certification with the City. They are taking many steps already. Read more on our website. The Annapolis Grill will offer Green Drinkers their Restaurant Week menu as a dinner special on February 15! That menu will be posted on the Restaurant Week website soon.

Our partners/exhibitors for this Green Drinks include Annapolis Restaurant week (By the way, there are up to 41 restaurants to choose from!), the MainStreets Annapolis Partnership that has additional incentives to promote during Restaurant Week, and the City of Annapolis with info on the Sustainable Annapolis Environmental Stewardship Program. Also joining us is the Buy Fresh Buy Local program that promotes healthy local eating at home and out.

press release

And speaking of Restaurant Week, Annapolis Green is taking the celebration of our local establishments a step further... we are highlighting those restaurants that have taken measures toward healthier and sustainable operations. We'll be giving special attention to those participating restaurants that are Certified Environmental Stewards of the Sustainable Annapolis program -- completing both the certification and inspection. There are several that haven't yet achieved environmental certification, but do offer menu items that are locally sourced (within 50 miles) that have the City's "green plate" designation. We'll tell you about those too as we applaud their efforts and encourage more to follow (and learn from) their example! So stay tuned for our list of Restaurant Week Greenies in the next few days.

Two More Reasons to Eat and Shop Downtown

As an added incentive for patrons to return to Annapolis when Restaurant Week is over, the MainStreets Annapolis Partnership (MAP) and the City of Annapolis are teaming up to provide parking vouchers that entitle the bearer to one day of free parking at Knighton or Park Place garages in the month of March. Participating restaurants will present the vouchers to their guests as a thank you for their Restaurant Week patronage. The restaurateurs will also distribute Plates and Perks cards. Provided by MAP, the cards encourage shoppers to visit their favorite stores to take advantage of special March offers. Participating merchants will display the card in their windows.

Mark your calendars for Green Drinks, Restaurant Week, and of course, our Film Fest this Saturday. Read more about that below.

Cheers,
