Landmarks Great Deals announces a local fundraising opportunity

it's a First - with Annapolis Green!

Annapolis Green and Landmarks Great Deals (LGD) announce a partnership to keep the momentum of Shopping Local going, not only now during the holiday season, but continuing through the cold days of January and February. Annapolis Green gets a donation when our followers and friends purchase great deals using the Annapolis Green promo code.

Here's how it works:.

Annapolis Green supporters go to LGD's website, landmarksgreatdeals.com, to see Today's Deal. If it appeals to you, click on Buy Now or Buy it for a Friend. That will take you to the purchase page. The deals can be anything from discounts at restaurants, hair salons, retail stores and more.

Here's the important part: In the Donation Code box, type in 1dd2da. That will attach your purchase to us and Annapolis Green will receive a donation from Landmarks! The rest is self-explanatory.

You can open an account and subscribe to LGD so you won't miss a thing.

Landmarks Great Deals' goal is to compete with the big discounters such as Groupon to keep our shopping dollars local, right here in our area. This benefits our economy and every one of us. Since LGD is a 23-year old local company with some real roots in this market (and the other guys aren't), they have great relationships with in the community and continually come up with the best offers of any of the current deal sites.

Sign up and encourage your friends too, so we can tap you in for more fun and savings (at your leisure) in the New Year!

Happy Holidays!

Wishing you all the happiest of holiday seasons! Thank you for joining us as well as your support over the last five years.

And yes, this time of year is always a time to reflect ... it's been quite a wild ride this year: 11 successful Green Drinks Annapolis events at Crush Wine House,  Homestead Gardens, Historic London Town and Gardens, the Metropolitan, Punks Backyard Grill, the Rockfish, Sam's on the Waterfront, the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, Quiet Waters Park, the Fleet Reserve Club, Historic Inns of Annapolis and even a cruise aboard the Richard Lee!

We celebrated our fifth anniversary, "continued the conversation" welcoming those who attended the Legislative Environmental Summit, held our first environmental film festival, initiated a festival greening program including rallying support and working with the US Boat Shows and focused on many environmental topics including local farm to table, stormwater control, supporting local businesses and more. We issued over 40 issues of this electronic newsletter, chocked full of information just for you.

Most of all, we gathered and met many people who share a passion for our environment and our Bay! Both online and in person, our aim is to provide a forum that allows you to share information and opinions about these issues. We believe this is  much-needed in our community and your interest in what we do tells us that you do too.

The coming year will see Annapolis Green itself move toward sustainability as we change or status to non-profit. This will allow us to take on projects funded by grants and tax-deductible donations.

In fact, the Annapolis Community Foundation is already acting as our fiscal sponsor so that we can accept donations while our 501(c)(3) filing is underway.

In the coming weeks we'll tell you about our plans and how you can participate. Sometime in February or March we will host  our big "splash" to celebrate our new status. More on that later.

Want to be one of the first to join us? Then consider becoming one of our Founding One Hundred. This exclusive group is made up of the first 100 people to donate $1000 to Annapolis Green. These 100 individuals will be permanently listed on our website, letterhead and other materials. Want to join in and make your mark on sustainability in the Annapolis area? Just click on the button below to learn more... and thank you!

Bring us your Corks for Recycling!

annapolis green logoNatural corks don't belong in a landfill. After they've done their job sealing in wine or champagne, they can have another life as part of shoes, flooring, and more. So although cork is a sustainable resource because the trees regrow the bark that is harvested -- why waste it?

annapolis green logo
Annapolis Green has partnered with recork.org to collect corks and send them to Recork for recycling. So bring them to our Green Drinks events from here forward and we'll make sure they get a second life!

This applies to natural cork only -- not the plastic ones!
