Moving Planet:
Charging Forward
for Maryland Offshore Wind Power

Rolling Rally
for Climate Solutions

Saturday, Sept. 24

11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Chesapeake Climate Action Network, Clean Currents and Bike Maryland will promote efforts to develop the state's offshore wind energy resources with the very first "rolling rally" to hit the streets of Annapolis.

The purpose is to illustrate to Annapolis legislators that there is support for offshore wind energy in Maryland. Speakers will include Senate Majority Leader Rob Garagiola, Jim Strong of the United Steelworkers of Maryland and Dave Goodrich, the former head of the NOAA climate observation unit who earlier this year biked across the country to spread awareness of climate change.

This is part of a global day of climate action called "Moving Planet." Join the rolling rally of bikes, skateboards, strollers and more, taking the "people-powered movement" to State Circle, to a theatrical bill signing and the final assemblage of miniature wind turbines by workers on the water. To learn more and register and join on your bike or other people-powered vehicle click here.  It will be fun for a great cause!
