Sustainable Landscaping is beautiful.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 21

Historic London Town and Gardens

Visitors Center

839 Londontown Road, Edgewater

Directions

We're counting on a terrific evening tomorrow  ...waterfront location, weather and concert.  What a way to kick off Summer! Our host, Historic London Town, is looking forward to sharing all they are doing to promote Sustainable Landscaping.

Owned by Anne Arundel County and operated by the London Town Foundation, the 23-acre museum and park features history, archaeology, and horticulture. Wander the eight-acre Woodland Garden of native plants and exotic species arranged along a one-mile trail before enjoying the seasonal Ornamental Gardens overlooking the South River.

A few previews:

  • Tour the magnificent gardens and rain ponds and hear about the green roof and living wall now being built
  • Taste great nibbles from Chef Zachary Pope of Roundz Complete Catering & Consulting
  • Buy organic wine, beer, and soft drinks
  • See exhibits from companies and non-profits specializing in the Go Green message (see list at left)
  • Enter the free raffle for items donated by the Chesapeake Bay Trust  and London Town
  • Stay for the Summer Solstice Concert ! Buy a discounted concert ticket -- special price for Green Drinkers -- for London Town's Summer Solstice Concert featuring the soothing dulcimer of Maggie Sansone and company, playing Celtic harp, fiddle, Irish flute and more. Maggie's music is ancient, infectious and so compelling, it is the perfect for this time of year.
Green Drinkers who stay for the concert get $10 off the price of admission, paying only $5! Wine and beverages will be available for purchase at the concert as will light dinner fare by Roundz Complete Catering and Consulting. The concert begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are sold at the door; kids under 12 admitted free.

See our website for more about London Town and its Green initiatives.
  • Be a good steward and bring your own wine glass or cup
  • If you stay for the concert bring a blanket to sit on.
  • Parking is limited at London Town, so carpool if you can.
  • Boaters, you can come by water. At low tide depth is about 4 1/2 feet in that part of the South River.

See you Tomorrow!
