Earth Day

Friday, April 22

Top of the Line

We hope you'll take a moment to think about our planet tomorrow and consider what you can do to help make it a better place to live. It's been said too often now, but it's true. The best policy is to think globally and act locally. Get informed -- not only about our issues here, like the health of the Chesapeake Bay -- but also bigger issues like global warming and sea level rise.

Celebrate Earth Day by getting to know our local environmental groups, and join one! There really is strength in numbers. You can learn a lot this way, and take action that really makes a difference.

Then, find out what your government representatives and officials have been doing. Let them know what you think. Demand that they take the environment into consideration in all their actions. After all, they work for us!

Our website has lots of information to help you on your way. Check out the Resources page on our website.

And this Saturday, visit Quiet Waters Park for the Sierra Club's Earth Day Race & Walk early in the morning followed by the park's Earth Day Celebration and Third Annual Family, Music and Kite Festival. Read more.  Also, don't forget that our email sponsor K&B True Value Hardware has a lot of special events, sales, and giveaways to celebrate Earth Day. See below.

So, Celebrate Earth Day - by an organized event, or in your own way.  And continue your actions not on just this one day, but throughout the year!

Cheers!

Lynne & Elvia
