April Green Drinks Recap
Our Earth Day month fundraiser for the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center's education program on April 14 was so much fun, and for a good cause! Thank you so much for your support of the cruise aboard the Richard Lee and your extra donations. We were so glad to showcase SERC, a world class research center right here in our backyard. Saturday, May 14, is the date of SERC's annual Open House. Plan now to attend and learn all about their programs and facilities. To learn more, click here.

Thank you to Captains VK Holtzendorf and Mike Shay for use of the Richard Lee and their hospitality. They really made the evening happen for us! Everyone enjoyed the cruise and the perfect weather. Unfortunately, the boat's public address system chose that moment to stop working so we were unable to enjoy a narration about SERC from director Tuck Hines from the water. But we were fortunate to hear from him on land before the boat left the dock.
Our delicious appetizers were graciously donated by these local businesses. Please show your appreciation by patronizing them.
- A Cook's Cafe and Maryland Table
- Herrington on the Bay
- Palate Pleasers
- My Butcher and More
We were seranaded on land by SERC's very own band, Muddy Creek, and by the Stephanie Williams Band. Aboard,
we enjoyed soothing live music by Celtic hammered dulcimer virtuoso Maggie Sansone and multi-instrumentalist Jim Mashie.
Read more about SERC and about the Richard Lee

Now we're making plans for our next Green Drinks Annapolis, at Sam's on the Waterfront. This will be our Green Boating event. Stay tuned for details and save the date, Thursday, May 12.
See you soon!
