Last Push for the Clean Water Act Bill

The Chesapeake Clean Water Act is still alive in the Senate but for it to be passed before this session of Congress ends we need to let our senators know that we are in favor of this bill. This is the last chance to pass this landmark legislation, which will provide more than $2 billion for clean water measures in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. For an easy way to send your senators a message, click here.

Thanks to Federal House
for a Fun
Green Drinks

It seems like just yesterday when we had a fun night at  Federal House -- with the bar downstairs and the appetizers and holiday marketplace upstairs. We appreciate Federal House's hospitality.

The City of Annapolis' Cindy Tait told us about the City's commercial recycling program and encouraged local businesses to get on the bandwagon. Read all about it. Cindy can be reached at 410 263-7967.

And speaking of encouraging businesses to operate in an Earth-friendly way, we provided Green Drinkers with their own calling cards that they, that is YOU, can leave at local businesses to let them know that your patronage is due to their "greenness" or that you won't if they don't "green up." If you didn't get yours you can download them here. Front | Back. These work well with Avery Business Cards #8877.

Wasn't it convenient to shop for the holidays at our Green Marketplace? There were lots of great gifts available from the merchants listed below. If you missed our event or you have more shopping to do, be sure to contact them directly.

Be sure to support our Green Marketplace local vendors & think

December Green Drinks
It's all about Eating Well by Eating Local

Thursday, December 2, 5:30 p.m.,
Level: A Small Plates Lounge 69 West Street, Annapolis

Level is one of our favorite places, not just for their awesome cocktails, but because they are very Green and also because they source almost all of their food from local farms.

That's perfect because in December we will focus on local food and how good it is for you and for our local economy.

Adding to our fun will be music from our favorite DJ, Jack McAdory. And we just know that owners John Hogan and John Miller (aka "Hollywood") will have some super original cocktails for us to enjoy...

Ride over in a specially decorated Green Drinks Holiday eCruiser! We'll have more details for you -- about our raffle, dinner specials, shopping deals and more -- in a few days.

Speaking of supporting our local merchants, don't forget that  December 2 is Midnight Madness! Rejoice in the season with holiday music and carolers with a special appearance from Old Saint Nick himself. Visit your favorite local stores and restaurants for all your holiday shopping and dining. Retail shops along Main Street, Randall Street, Upper West Street and Maryland Avenue will remain open until the stroke of midnight. It's loads of fun! Details.

We distribute 12,000 copies bimonthly throughout Anne Arundel, Howard and Queen Anne's counties to locations including: select grocery stores, restaurants, fitness clubs and yoga studios, preschools, child care centers, and dental and medical offices.  Nesting is a valuable resource filled with useful information.
