1st Edition of Annapolis Green's
The Line
Hello Everyone,

Connecting and sharing in our eco-conscious community is what Annapolis Green & Green Drinks is all about. Since our gatherings have grown over the years, topping 200 people each month (which we love), we believe it is time to do the same with our information sharing. Gone are our intimate Green Drinks days of passing the microphone, introducing ourselves and making announcements. Our information and display table overflows. So it's time to do more electronically.

Our goal with this new email blast is to point you to, and highlight, all the great local environmental news we gather for you.

Our Green Drinks email blasts -- which we will continue to send out -- contain a lot of info but it seems that because we are providing details about the next Green Drinks event and we are giving you other news the emails are just too long. And paradoxically, we have a lot more news to share with you anyway! So, with The Line we are planning to do a better job of separating Green Drinks news from other eco-news.

In The Line, which we hope to get out several times a month, we'll give you teasers with links to our website -- where there is plenty of room for all your news-- and to other relevant sites!

Of course for "breaking news" we'll reach you by Facebook (392 members) and Twitter (194 followers) so be sure to follow us and share your comments there too.

Find us on Facebook  Follow us on Twitter

Let us know what you think of this format (and the name ... Lynne's not crazy about it) and send us your news, calendar items, photos, comments, ideas, etc. The more we all know the better we can make good decisions.

Elvia and Lynne

PS: Don't miss news about our Green Drinks Extra "by land sea" guided tour of the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, with live music, fun, local food and drink aboard the Richard Lee. See the sidebar column.
Maryland Seafood Fest Goes Green
Join us by Volunteeing & Sponsoring!

Sept 10-12
Sandy Point Park

On this 43rd year of the Maryland Seafood Festival, it is Going Green!

The festival organizers are excited to undertake eco-friendly initiatives to show their commitment to the health of the Bay and our environment while celebrating on the shore of the Chesapeake! From eco stations with both waste and recycling to bio-diesel and pilot composting, they hope sponsors, vendors and attendees together will join in to help make a sustainable difference ... not only this September but year after year.

We'll have a tent featuring our efforts and activities -- communicating and attendee participation are key.  To find out more about both helping and sponsoring this greening effort at the festival, click here.
