The exhibit is housed in the McNasby building, one of the last local oyster packing plants to close. The Oyster Recovery Partnership also will be on hand with an exhibit about its efforts to bring the oysters back to pre-pollution, pre-disease levels. When not lighting up the small screen, they've been delighting audiences throughout Eastport and even across the Spa Creek Bridge with their irrepressible brand of humorous "Chesapeake cruisin' tunes" inspired by living in a neighborhood where the best things in life are a "good hat, a good dog and a good boat." Their original songs, inspired by the Bay, swing from island rhythms to "Country/Western Shore," some poking fun at stinkpotters while others pay homage to the plight of the waterman. Green is as Green DoesFolks, don't forget, we always provide recycling bins at our events. Do your part and put paper, plastic, metal, and just about anything except food in the recycling bins. If you don't know that to put where, just ask us. We're looking forward to our return to the Museum and to seeing you there!

What is Green Drinks?
Green Drinks is a monthly (more or less) get-together that gives the environmentally minded a chance to get to know one another in a fun, informal way facilitating connections and working together for a common cause: The Health of the Chesapeake Bay. We are apart of an amazing international group, greendrinks.org, with over 600 like us all around the world. Of course, we think our Annapolis crew is the best! Try visiting other groups while you're on the road. And, it's truly not about the drinks ... those who don't drink alcoholic beverages are welcome too! |
