Updated info Below

Tomorrow, rain or shine, we'll rendezvous at the charming Boathouse at St. John's College. Join us for a summer sip and nibble along the living shoreline at St. John's. The room is charming space, reminiscent of an earlier time here in Annapolis.

We're planning a terrific Green Drinks in this wonderful setting on College Creek. Remember the mantra Think Globally, Act Locally? We'll have information on both.

The Boathouse is the ideal venue to highlight the sustainability practices the College has undertaken, including its very successful shoreline restoration.
See our website for more about our St. John's speakers including Vice President Barbara Goyette.

one percent for the planetSusan Comfort of One Percent for the Planet will talk briefly about how businesses, even small businesses, can do their part by setting aside just 1% of sales for environmental action. Dick Franyo of the Boatyard Bar & Grill does so; maybe you can too. Come hear all about it.

July is also the month to increase our awareness of how important it is for our economy to buy local. This year's Maryland Buy Local Challenge Week runs July 17-25. We'll have the scoop on taking the challenge and how all of us can get engaged.

Appetizers for our event will be provided by bb Bistro and the Bon Appetit Management Company.

Read more on our website about the fabulous appetizers we will enjoy and the sustainable ethic of these two businesses.

Do your part and put paper, plastic, metal, and just about anything except food in the recycling bins.If you don't know that to put where, just ask us.

If you have a name badge of your own - wear it! That saves using more paper to create one.

Volunteers

We could use help with bartending. Please come at 5 p.m. if are willing to help. The bartenders are always the most popular folks at Green Drinks!

And, please come ready to share all of your good Green business info with each other - we'll have tables and our bulletin board. Just remember if any left over at the end, take it with you.

Cheers and see you tomorrow!

Chris Trumbauer
for Anne Arundel County Council

Endorsed by Maryland Sierra Club, Maryland League of Conservation Voters, and Teachers Association of AA County

Chris is running to give a voice to working families, promote open and transparent government, and to be the environmental champion we need. It's time to end business as usual on the County Council. The special interests have plenty of influence already; it's time to have a representative for working people and government we can trust.

"The health of our waterways and natural areas is incredibly important in Anne Arundel County. Our environment is critical to our economy and our quality of life, and I will continue fighting for it on the County Council, just as I have done my whole life."

What is Green Drinks?

green drinks annapolis
Green Drinks is a monthly (more or less) get-together that gives the environmentally minded a chance to get to know one another in a fun, informal way facilitating connections and working together for a common cause: The Health of the Chesapeake Bay. We are apart of an amazing international group, greendrinks.org, with over 600 like us all around the world.  Of course, we think our Annapolis crew is the best!  Try visiting other groups while you're on the road.  And, it's truly not about the drinks ... those who don't drink alcoholic beverages are welcome too!
