Thank you to our hosts at Crush Winehouse for a fun and tasty evening!
As we've grown in size the locations we can visit are more limited. Because of this, returning to Crush (the old Purple Tooth we enjoyed and frequented) made us a bit nervous. Yet, the flow worked and the crowd wonderful and "intimate" ... we even had a program without a microphone!
A huge thank you always goes out to all of our volunteers who help us pull off such a night -- Trish Brewer and Mollie Williams (Historic Inns), Cathie Trogdon (Weems & Plath) and Danielle Angeline.
Thank you to Bob and Janet for hosting us! Kudos to Chef John for mass producing in your "cozy kitchen." And, your staff worked so well and hard keeping us all happy. It was a lovely and delicious evening.
Crush has quite a variety of activities ... and food too! Don't forget that they serve light dinners in addition to their amazing wine selection. And, the versatile Enomactic is a fun way to try a selection of wine by the ounce. The winner of our raffle will enjoy that! The owners of Crush invite us all to visit their new website and sign up for their emails that announce upcoming events. As part of our program, Maria Broadbent of Sustainable Annapolis presented Crush with its environmental stewardship certification. Read about the program.
The other great news we shared had to do with the new City of Annapolis commercial recycling program. Cindy Tate joined us to tell more about the new and long-awaited expansion to the City's recycling services. Read more about the program.
Chesapeake Clean Water and Ecosystem Restoration Act of 2009
If you haven't already ...Please Show Your Support! As we announced, there is still time to respond to the Action Alert to encourage your federal legislators to pass the Act. This legislation is still in Congress and we still need support. So far we've reached 224 legislator through the Green Drinks link. Please pass this info along to your email list and encourage everyone to click on this link and respond. Thanks! June Green Drinks Annapolis
Tuesday, June 8 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
143 Compromise Street
A night under the stars ... that's our June program ... a fun and exciting evening downtown at the Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre! And, we are trying something new -- a joint event with Maryland Life Magazine, helping them "launch" their May/June issue that contains an article on, yes, Green Drinks, "Raise a Glass to Green." Read it. Not only will we be hearing about the new
green renovations at the theatre, but also taking a sustainable look at
entertainment along with a few teasers to make sure we return for a show
this summer!
To cap the evening off we're having a sort of dine-a-round. Participating eCruisers member restaurants will be inviting you to join them afterwards ... and arrive, yes, via an eCruisers electric shuttle. Try it out!

Cheers! Elvia & Lynne

What is Green Drinks?
Green Drinks is a monthly (more or less) get-together that gives the environmentally minded a chance to get to know one another in a fun, informal way facilitating connections and working together for a common cause: The Health of the Chesapeake Bay. We are apart of an amazing international group, greendrinks.org, with over 600 like us all around the world. Of course, we think our Annapolis crew is the best! Try visiting other groups while you're on the road. And, it's truly not about the drinks ... those who don't drink alcoholic beverages are welcome too! | |
