Happy Earth Week!

April 19, 2010 -- We are looking forward to our gathering this Thursday for Earth Day and truly hope that you will join us. Please bring along a few friends to help set a new attendance record and to and introduce them to our group

Most importantly, please review our message below ... we are encouraging you to take action to help restore the health of the Chesapeake Bay. Please show your support for our Bay by simply clicking on the link below to send your letter to your congressional representatives. It takes but a few moments.

The next big favor we ask is that you customize this request and forward it to five (or more!) of your family and friends in Maryland, -- and better yet, across the country -- asking for their participation too.

Together, let's use the networking power of Green Drinks and demand action to save our Chesapeake Bay.

Thank you! See you Thursday.

Hello Family, Friends
and
Fellow Green Drinkers!

We need your help to save
our Chesapeake Bay!

As many of you may know, Green Drinksis a monthly happy hour of the eco-minded to connect and share ideas -- all around the world. Since our forte is networking and making connections, the Green Drink groups around the Chesapeake Bay Watershed are reaching out to you for your help.

The Chesapeake Clean Water and Ecosystem Restoration Act of 2009,now working its way through Congress, has been called by many the last, best hope for restoration of a great national treasure. The powerful grass roots networking of Green Drinks can help move this bill along to passage.

As fellow Green Drinkers (and friends and family of) you can add your unique voiceto the fight for restoration of the Chesapeake Bay by sending a note to your congressman or senator in support of this national legislation.

To see this bill pass, we need support from the entire country. After all, every state, every region has its clean water issues and we hope we'll be there to return the favor when you need help.
The Chesapeake Bay legislation is important to all Americans because it will impact other bodies of water too.

The Chesapeake is as important and wonderful a national treasure as the Grand Canyon, the Smoky Mountains, the Badlands of South Dakota, the Everglades or Death Valley. It is tied directly to our early history as a nation, and is the largest estuary in the country. It is the heart of our local heritage and it is dying.

Call to Action during this Earth Week

Click here to send a note to your local representatives and senators. Thanks to our partnership with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, we've set up a simple, ready-to-use letter you can modify and send -- by email or on paper -- plus we will track our Green Drinks support through this link.

Pass along this message to your friends and colleagues so they can join in as well! Just use the handy "forward email" link at the bottom.

We've got a powerful network in Green Drinks. Let's use it and join together in support of this National Treasure.

Thanks and Cheers!
