___________________________________ Deadline Open International Call for Art (From graphics to paintings to photographs) American Fever: A Tale of Romance & Pestilence Online
American Fever is a blog novel that I am presenting online globally from early July into October 2009, post by post, day by day. This is the live, linked, usually illustrated tale of a New Yorker blogging through two waves of a flu pandemic that causes massive social and political problems at home and overseas. At the start, you can see that he is in hiding 5 years after the emergency because of legal problems he encountered when the U.S. government took extreme measures. You will find on the site a gallery that presents 9 works by 3 artists. I would welcome more visuals that illustrate this radical multimedia novel. (Two artworks have been deployed in the narrative so far.) It is of course difficult for you to know where the plot will specifically go. But if you scan the book's posts, I think you will see how broadly I can apply art that excites me. There is neither no entry fee. Should the book be published with some illustrations, we would deal with such rights questions at that time. www.AmericanFeverBook.com

Proposals from Artists and Curators Torrance Art Museum
Los Angeles, CA The Torrance Art Museum is a small contemporary art museum located in the South Bay area of Los Angeles. It has a vibrant and fast paced programming schedule that covers the latest developments in current art regionally, nationally and internationally, as well as innovative curatorial projects featuring both emerging and established artists. We are currently seeking proposals. As a small museum of contemporary art our strength lies in our ability to react to moments in art, quickly (for a museum) and efficiently, within a limited budget. We cannot compete with large museum blockbuster shows but we can respond to the ideas referencing the role of art, curators, museums, etc within the world. What better way to do this than by actually offering a site for the production of some of these projects that deal with our concerns directly. TAM should be an artist's museum, a curator's museum and our audience's museum for active engagement - so if this strikes a chord with you then feel free to send proposals to us. We will respond to them all and will shortlist those that we respond the strongest to (whatever that subjectively means) and try to schedule a number of these for the 2011/2012 programming. For more information, please go to http://www.torranceartmuseum.com/proposals.php
