Dear Members, Welcome to another edition of BindiWeddings. I am pleased to announce that my handsome and I are officially newlyweds!! Whoot! Whoot! We've been back from our honeymoon in Negril, Jamaica for about 3 weeks now and are settling into marital bliss comfortably. I guess 7 years of courtship paid off! After a year of planning, a week-long of wedding festivities felt like it was over in a heartbeat. But the incredible memories we created will last us a lifetime (photos to come!). Our wedding ceremonies, both Hindu and Christian, honoured our family traditions with elegance and style. Our reception was a fusion fairytale complimented by black and white dcor with sliver-blue accents and a 4-tier cake to match.
Here are just a few of the elements from our wedding that received rave reviews from our guests: - A decorative Hindu Wedding program
- Christian Ceremony location - outdoors, by a stunning lakeside gazebo against a natural backdrop where seating was arranged in amphitheatre style
- "Our Story" Slideshow Presentation (shown at reception)
- Same Day Edit Video Presentation (shown at reception)
- T&A Wedding Extravaganza facebook group - a platform where our guests could upload videos, photos, and comments during our wedding festivities
Everything - more or less - went smoothly and it could have not been successful without our wonderful planners - OUR FAMILY! Both my husband and I are truly blessed to have the family and friends that we do. So thank you all for your love and support. Now on to the next chapter of our lives...creating a home while keeping the honeymoon phase alive! ;)
Until next time...
Peace & Love,

Lisa Ray to have traditional Indian wedding |
Actress Lisa Ray, who is all excited about tying the knot with her American fiance Jason Dehni in California, says she is planning her wedding in typical Indian style. The 40-year-old Water star will marry the management executive on October 20 at Napa Valley and will have the reception in India.
"I have never been so happy before in my life. I am nervous and at the same time excited as the wedding is approaching. I am shopping a lot in India. It will be a typical Indian style wedding," Lisa said.
"My fiance and I have planned my reception in India for my friends here though we haven't decided the venue yet," she added.
Her wedding gown is being designed by Wendell Rodricks with loads of Indian embellishments in it. Click HERE to read more. |
Planners tackle 'fusion' weddings in Canada |
When Raana Chaudhry's friends were getting married, they wanted the glitz and glamour of a Bollywood-style, multi-ceremony Indian wedding complete with a guest list of epic proportions. But even though they lived in the multicultural hotspot of Toronto, they had trouble finding a wedding planner who could navigate the ins and outs of a traditional South Asian wedding.
Recognizing a growing demand, Ms. Chaudhry launched her own company, Sapna Weddings, six years ago.
"There are a lot of vendors and caterers who serve the South Asian market, but there weren't any wedding planners who specialized in pulling all of that together," Ms. Chaudhry said.
The brides came running. Ms. Chaudhry now plans more than 70 South Asian weddings a year, charging anywhere from $1,000 to $10,000, depending on the scale of the event.

Introducing Jaan :: A Delectable Paan-flavoured Liqueur! |
If you're in the market for a something sensational with a universally appealing flavour that's unlike anything on the market, then look no further than the exotic and sensual Jaan Liqueur. This liqueur captures the flavour of sweet paan, a popular snack in South Asia that dates back thousands of years.
Introduced just last year, Jaan Liqueur is an authentic treat made in Canada from neutral grain spirits, Canadian maple syrup, and a singular blend of herbs and spices. This award-winning liqueur has a luminescent amber/gold hue, a satiny textured body and is a semisweet bouquet of cloves, menthol and flora. The palate is a spicy affair - a secret proprietary blend with notes of cinnamon, cloves and cardamom.
"Jaan" is a Hindi/Urdu word loosely translated as "life" or "love." Offering paan is a symbol of respect, friendship and hospitality. |
