Mindfulness & Conflict?

Could mindfulness play a role in handling conflict? There is increasing interest in helping pupils through 'stilling' processes to focus their personal resources. However, mindfulness presents a double advantage as it improves teachers' lives as well. Could it be that it also helps in handling personal challenges? Why not come and explore these ideas with our two new Autumn conferences?

topDear Colleagues,

Yes! In 2011-2012 we are celebrating 10 years of providing inspirational training and consultancy for independent schools throughout the UK.

We have loved the last 10 years and have enjoyed meeting all the remarkable people with whom we have worked - heads, staff, pupils and parents. We are looking forward to the year to come. Please do get in touch if Futuremind can help.

With very best wishes,

David Thomson

Departmental Subject Reviews                      [top]
Embedded school improvement. This has become our most successful and highly praised venture. One department or all of them. Celebrating success, supporting under-performance.

"We took an important strategic decision after our last inspection to put in place a subject review process built into a three year cycle. One year into the process, David's impact is substantially evident. Subject Leaders have welcomed his measured, objective and thorough evaluations and the effects on performance and ambition have been striking."
Phil Ward, Headmaster, Feltonfleet School

RI's now available for 'mock' inspection       [top]
Given the very high standards of teaching and learning in independent schools, if there is going to be a pitfall at inspection, it may well be within the complex arena of regulatory compliance. The Futuremind mock-inspection team, which already includes experienced ISI inspectors from EYFS, Prep and Senior phases, now also boasts RI's as associate consultants. These experts will complete a documentary analysis and then conduct a one-day, on-site visit with relevant interviews to ensure nothing is missed.

Mentoring for Heads                                   [top]
Insightful professional & personal development and confidential support. Especially valuable for new Heads.

"David Thomson's sensitive mentoring was invaluable to me in my first year of headship.  By asking just the right questions and encouraging rigorous self-analysis, he helped me adjust to my new role.  As a consequence, I believe I developed rapidly as a leader and I continue to draw upon his advice in all kinds of challenging situations."
