Fan Fund
Give to the Fan Fund...

Help Your Neighbors Stay Cool This Summer!

Summer heat can be extremely dangerous for the elderly and people without air conditioning. Help us provide fans to low income families and seniors by making a $15 donation to the 2012 Fan Fund. Your investment will help a local neighbor beat the heat. Watch the PSA here...

What is the Fan Fund?

The Fan Fund is an annual program to provide box fans to local residents who qualify for the program through United Way's 2-1-1:

  • United Way's 2-1-1 call center qualifies recipients for the fans
  • The Chattanooga Times Free Press collects donations online
  • Ace Hardware provides the fans at a low cost
  • EPB and Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union employees deliver the fans
If you know someone who may need a fan or utility assistance, have them call 2-1-1 as soon as possible.

Day of Action, June 21

Raise Your Hand LogoOn June 21, individuals and groups across the country will participate in the fifth annual

United Way Day of Action. Here in our community, United Way of Greater Chattanooga will be recruiting volunteers and organizing events to recruit volunteers around our community goals for Education.

At different locations all around town, companies and individuals will be cleaning up libraries, reading to toddlers, or mentoring youth by engaging with them through summer time activities at camps and rec centers.

If you want to be a part of the movement to improve Education by raising your hand to read, tutor or mentor a child in this area, visit www.iHelpChattanooga.org or call Volunteer Director Windy Brooks at 423-752-0316
