Campaign Update |
|
90% Now Raised
To date, $10.7 million has been raised towards our campaign goal of $11.9 million. That's 90% of the goal. Many of our campaign units went above and beyond this year:
- Hamilton County Employees reached $114,840, or 112% of their goal;
- North Georgia exceeded its regional goal of $522,526 by $4,340, with more funds still expected despite the slow economy and many plant closings;
- Our Nonprofits & Foundations, who know the needs of at-risk families and individuals in our communities, met their $499,315 goal;
- The Healthcare industry stepped up to meet its $324,949 goal and added a 9% increase;
- Area Labor Unions exceeded their goal and pledged $171,892;
- local Media met their $109,029 goal, which included the successful online media auction; and
- The Combined Federal Campaign raised $287,619, which is 111% of their United Way fundraising goal. That amount is part of the $1.4 million that CFC raises for different nonprofits throughout the region.
We still have 10% to go. Please help. If you can give, donate online now or call Linda McReynolds at 423-752-0304 to find out how you can help us reach our goal.

We need your photos! |
| We know you took photos of you and your coworkers raising money for United Way and working your campaign. SHOW US! Maybe you took a video of your boss singing at your campaign kickoff meeting. SHOW US! Maybe you took pictures at a special event, festival or street fair you held to promote the campaign. SHOW US!
We need your campaign photos to use as part of a slide show at our next annual meeting in February. If you'll send us your pictures, we'll use them in our presentation and we'll post them on our web site and our Facebook page.
If you have any questions, call 423-752-0322 or e-mail Kelley Nave.

How Deborah Lives United |
Deborah is an enthusiastic 12-year-old selling Girl Scout cookies in Marion County, but she wasn't always this way. A United Way-supported speech development program first saw her 9 years ago and diagnosed her with a speech disorder, but her family never began treatment. Eight years later, Deborah was brought back to the program and diagnosed with both articulation and language disorders. Her problems were so severe that the public school she attends enrolled her in the program for intense, individual speech therapy. When we reach a hand out to one, we influence the condition of all. That's how you Live United.
