---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear youth and parents,
It was wonderful to see so many of you here for Kickoff Sunday last week, and we were particularly thrilled to welcome over 100 middle and high school youth to our Sunday school classes and well over 100 youth and parents to our Youth Family Roundup after the 11:00 worship service. And although the rain pushed our evening block party inside, families and first-time UCC guests still had plenty of fun. Thanks to everyone who volunteered their time and energy to set up for all of these events and make people feel welcome, we had a small army of adults and youth extending hospitality and rolling up their sleeves. It's a great start to this new program year, and I'm excited about what's in store!
Read on for info about our freshman welcome dinner, Sunday night programs, fundraising through TCU football parking, and updates to our text alert service and online youth calendar.

Earn credit for camps and trips by parking for TCU football
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~ Football season is here again, and youth and parents have the opportunity to raise money by parking cars in the church lots for TCU football games. Part of the money raised goes into youth reserve funds, and part goes into the individual accounts of those who work each game to use for camps, retreats, trips, and other church events. This year, each hour is worth $50 per family member who works, and each person can volunteer up to two hours per game.
The first TCU home game is Saturday, September 8 against Grambling State with a 6 p.m. kickoff. We will need volunteers in 1-2 hour shifts to control access to our season parking lots and direct cars/take money for the daily parking lots. We'll need the most volunteers from 3:45-5:45 when most of our "daily rate" parking will take place, and fewer from 2:45-3:45 and 5:45-6:30 when we are primarily controlling season parking access. If you have additional questions about this fundraiser, please email Mike Morton at m_morton@sbcglobal.net . |
