Dear youth and parents,
Christmas is almost here and the staff has been hard at work this week preparing for our services on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. If you're in town, I hope you'll be able to join us for worship. Our Christmas Eve services will be at 4, 6, 8, and 11 p.m., and our Christmas morning service will be at 11 a.m. Click here for details on all of our services - each one provides a different, meaningful way to experience the joy of Christ's birth.
We had a great time at our Chi Rho and CYF Christmas parties this past Sunday night, and I'm especially thankful to the Lanter and Ruiz families for opening their homes and serving as gracious hosts to our youth groups. Those parties marked the end of our weekly programming for 2011, and our Sunday school classes and youth groups will both be picking back up in January. Read on for details on our holiday schedule, as well as updates on Hanging of the Greens shirts, results from the canned food drive challenge, and a reminder about the Chi Rho boys' winter clothing drive!
Grace and Peace, Russ

Hanging of the Greens shirts still available in most sizes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  Our second batch of Hanging of the Greens shirts have been disappearing quickly, but most sizes are still available. Green adult shirts are available in S, M, and XL, while red shirts in kids' sizes are available in S, M, L, and XL. Shirts can be purchased for $15 in the youth office on the third floor, and you can reserve one or more shirts in the size you want by clicking here. Some say that if you roll them up they make great stocking stuffers! Want another look at that classy new shirt design by our own Herb Murray? Click here for a close-up of the original, and here to see the new red edition for kids.
Chi Rho boys collecting winter clothes for Union Gospel Mission
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Chi Rho Boys Sunday School Class need your help! During this Christmas season, our 6th-7th boys have chosen to collect winter clothing on behalf of the Union Gospel Mission. Freezing temperatures are approaching and many women, men, and children are without sufficient clothing to stay warm. You can help by bringing old coats, sweaters, gloves, hats or other winter clothing items that you are not using to the collection point on UCC's 3rd floor. The collection concludes on Sunday, January 15.
