Dear youth and parents, UCC's amazing, gifted, hard-working Youth Ministry Committee met last night, and one of the items on our agenda was the approval of the new three-year goals and one-year benchmarks that we developed for our youth ministry at a special meeting in October. We learned this process of developing annual "revolving" goals and benchmarks from Youth Ministry Architects, and this marks the third year we've used this incredibly helpful tool to ensure that we know where we're heading and what steps we need to take to get there. Click here to view a copy of our new goals and benchmarks, and (as always) feel free to contact me with any questions or comments. Read on for info on the CYF retreat that begins today, football parking fundraiser on Saturday, Youth Thanksgiving Feast on Sunday, Hanging of the Greens service next weekend, and more!
Grace and Peace, Russ

Parking lot fundraiser: TCU vs. Colorado State this Saturday
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From Mike Morton, Youth Fundraising Coordinator:
Youth and parents have another great opportunity to earn funds to use for church camps and trips this Saturday when the TCU Horned Frogs play Colorado State at 2:30 p.m. With the exciting win over Boise State this past weekend we're expecting a full house. For the first time this season, there are no special events going on at either TCU or UCC on game day. However, many of our high school youth will be away at Fall Retreat, so we will need more adults than usual.
With that in mind, here is what we need for this week's parking:
- 11:30 a.m - 2-3 volunteers to open the Reserved Lot 3 hours before game time. If we have an additional 4-6 volunteers, we can also open 1 or 2 of the daily lots.
- 12:30 p.m - By this time, we should have 12-15 volunteers working and all lots open. Again, we need an adequate number of adults to open a given lot because, for safety reasons, we do not leave the younger youth on their own.
If you are able to be there at 11:30 a.m., please email me at m_morton@sbcglobal.net and let me know so I can plan the schedule. To work the "regular" parking shift, please be at UCC by 12:30 p.m.
Regarding our Reserved Lot: Those who have paid the premium to have a spot were assured their spot would be available until 30 minutes after kickoff. That means one or two people need to stay at the lot until 3 p.m. but only if any of the reserved spots are still open at kickoff. If you are not going to the game and can stay until 3 p.m., please let me know so we can ensure this is covered.
Every hour worked is worth over $75 in credit toward the price of camps, retreats, and trips, and you'll have one more opportunity to raise funds at TCU's final home game on Dec. 3 at 1:30 p.m. Hope to see you Saturday.
Youth Thanksgiving Feast this Sunday night
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Youth Thanksgiving Feast for all youth in grades 6-12 will be this Sunday, November 20 from 6-7:45 p.m. on the 3rd floor. Turkey will be provided, but please bring your favorite side or dessert to share AND a canned food item to donate. E-mail jessica@uccftw.com or post on the Facebook event wall with the item you plan to bring so we don't end up with 20 pumpkin pies (Jessica's favorite).

Calling all youth! Hanging of the Greens on November 27
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  The annual Hanging of the Greens worship service will be led by our middle and high school youth on Sunday, November 27. This year the the festive service that decorates our sanctuary will take place at 5 p.m., followed by a dinner in Fellowship Hall with Advent-themed crafts and activities for the whole family. Youth who would like a speaking part should be present in the Sanctuary at 2 p.m. to rehearse, while all other youth should arrive by 3 p.m. to practice processing and hanging the greenery. All participants will be given a long-sleeved Hanging of the Greens t-shirt to wear during the service. Participants can keep the shirt for only $10, and extra shirts will be available for the general public to purchase for $15. Click here for a preview of the shirt design.
