Prayer shawl ministry returns to 4 p.m. Sundays afternoons

Dear youth and parents,

Thanks to everyone for being so flexible on an Easter Sunday to remember!  It's amazing to show up on Easter morning to discover a church with no electricity - and still have five meaningful worship services.  So many people transported handbells, hymnals, percussion, and countless other items to make the morning services happen at TCU, while many others came early to help set up a candelight service with two short-notice baptisms at The Search.  It really says a lot about this congregation that our community came together to ensure we could worship as a church, even if it's not quite what we had planned.

There are lots of exciting events coming up in the next few weeks, including girls night/guys night events tonight, a teacher appreciation brunch this Sunday, rescheduled Easter baptisms for the next two Sundays, Youth Sunday on May 8, and our annual Senior Banquet on May 11.  Read on for more details, and don't forget to RSVP!

Grace and Peace,
Russ

Bagel graphic All youth in grades 6-12 will gather in Fellowship Hall at 10 a.m. this Sunday, May 1 to share good food and express appreciation to our dedicated teachers, shepherds, and mentors.  Bring a brunch-y food to share with everyone, and UCC will provided coffee, milk, and juice.  This event takes the place of youth Sunday school classes, so all 6th-12th graders should go directly to Fellowship Hall for the Sunday school hour.

The Chi Rho Mission Trip will take our youth in grades 6-8 to Austin from June 12-15.  While there, they'll be serving others at several different agencies, including the Salvation Army, Elderhaven Adult Day Care, and Manos de Cristo before spending a day cooling off at Schlitterbahn Water Park in New Braunfels.  Click here to download the registration flyer for more information.

Our 9th-12th grade youth will travel to Los Fresnos, Texas for the CYF Mission Trip, scheduled for June 25 - July 2.  They will spend the week working at Southwest Good Samaritan Ministries, a Disciple mission agency committed to serving the "least of these" in the Rio Grande Valley.  For details, click here for the registration flyer.
