Dear youth and parents, Happy New Year! Sarah, Bell, and I returned from a week in Virginia last night and we're thankful for a great time with lots of family, good food, and plenty of rest. We're back in the swing of things at church tomorrow with Sunday school classes resuming and a Prom Dreams volunteer opportunity in the afternoon. Also, I'll be preaching at The Search tomorrow evening at 5 p.m. if you'd like to learn a little more about the magi and what their visit to the baby Jesus was all about. Read on for more, and I'll see you soon!
Grace and Peace, Russ

Prom Dreams volunteer opportunity this Sunday afternoon
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 From Jessica Vacketta: Renovation of the Prom Dreams space above the Children's Closet is underway and we painted two rooms and a furniture set before Christmas at our first work day. This Sunday, January 2, from 2:30-5pm we will have another work day with the goal of painting two more rooms and a hallway. No need to RSVP to help, just show up at the Children's Closet (house next to the church) willing to work and wearing clothes you don't mind getting a little dirty. After the painting is completed we will hang mirrors, curtains, and shelving. Couch and chair cushions also need to be re-upholstered. If you are interested in volunteering your time, fabric, or other supplies to create a great setting for this ministry, please contact me at jessica@uccftw.com. |
