Dear youth and parents,
The weather is finally turning cooler and that means it's almost time for our fall youth retreats at Disciples Crossing. The Chi Rho retreat for grades 6-8 is coming up November 5-7 and the CYF retreat for grades 9-12 will be November 19-21. These weekend retreats provide a great opportunity to connect with youth and adults from our church on a deeper level, meet youth from other Disciple churches in the area, and grow closer to God at Disciples Crossing, a church camp that is holy ground for many. Forms for both retreats are available today, so be sure to use
the link below to download a copy and get registered before the deadline.

Register now for the Chi Rho Fall Retreat at Disciples Crossing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Our youth in grades 6-8 have the opportunity to join middle schoolers from Disciple churches around the area for the Chi Rho Fall Retreat coming up November 5-7 at Disciples Crossing, our church camp in Athens. This annual retreat offers the opportunity to grow closer
to God and one another through worship, recreation, prayer, small groups, and
interest groups that include options like sports, dance, art, service,
photography, and more.
Our youth will meet at UCC at 5:30 p.m. that Friday to share a charter bus to camp, and will return around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. The cost for the retreat is $80 and full or half scholarships are available upon request. Registrations forms are due to the Youth Office by Sunday, October 17, and you can download one by clicking here. Parents: We will need adult chaperones to attend the retreat as well. Click here to visit our new Google calendar, which provides an easy way to see what's coming up for youth each week or month. Click on an event for details like location, cost, and even relevant documents like registration forms and flyers. There's even a link to add an event to your own Google calendar if you have one. Be sure to bookmark the site for future use, or use the calendar link on the youth section of the UCC website ( www.uccyouth.org will take you there). |
Worship, football, and fun at TCU's CYF Day - October 9
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~ CYF Day, an annual youth event sponsored by the TCU Office of Admissions, is coming to UCC on October 9. Hundreds of Disciple youth from across the region will descend on our church for complimentary food, campus tours, inspiring worship, the TCU vs. Wyoming football game, and an "after party" in Fellowship Hall. Check out the schedule for the day and come for any or all of the event:
Noon - Complimentary food from TCU catering available in Fellowship Hall
Noon and 12:15 - Campus tours leave from Fellowship Hall
1:00 - Welcome and door prizes from TCU Admissions in Fellowship Hall
1:15 - Worship featuring The Search band in Fellowship Hall
2:30 - TCU vs. Wyoming at Amon G. Carter Stadium
5:30ish - "5th Quarter" After Party with games and food in Fellowship Hall - $5

Save the date (and your stuff) for the UCC Garage Sale - Mar. 5

Have some things around the
house that you've been meaning to get rid of? Don't ditch them just yet...save them for the UCC Garage Sale on March
5! The sale will take place in
Fellowship Hall and your tax-deductible donations (accepted beginning in
January) help fund the renovation of youth classrooms on the third floor. Volunteers (adults and youth) are needed for many different jobs
before and during the sale, from picking up donations to sorting clothing to
serving as a cashier.
