Dear youth and parents, It's another great weekend with lots of opportunities for youth and parents to get involved at UCC! 18 middle school youth and adults are meeting at 5:30 this evening to travel to Disciples Crossing for the Chi Rho Midwinter Retreat, and they'll be returning shortly after noon on Sunday. Speaking of after noon on Sunday, it's time once again for our First Sunday Lunch for youth and parents at Pappas Burger right after the 11:00 worship service. Then later in the afternoon (and in lieu of our typical Sunday evening programming), we'll be sponsoring UCC Super Bowling again at Cityview Lanes. Parents and siblings are welcome to join in the fun on Sunday afternoon along with youth and their friends.
Read on for details on all of these opportunities, along with info on the upcoming CYF Midwinter Retreat, a special luncheon for youth and their grandparents, and a newly-published list of summer camps and dates for 2010.
Grace and Peace, Russ

Do you *heart* grandparents? Invite them to our luncheon!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From Pam Reeser, UCC Special Events Coordinator:
Youth of UCC, let your grandparents know how special they are to you by
inviting them to join you for lunch on Sunday, February 14 at 12:15 p.m. in
Room 207. Even if your grandparents
cannot be here there are several grandparents who have offered to be "grandparents
for the day" who would love to break bread with you. There is no charge for lunch, but
reservations are required by Thursday,
February 11.
E-mail Pam Reeser at pam@uccftw.com to make a reservation or sign up this Sunday
at the Arches Bookstore information desk. Let's
show our grandparents how much we appreciate them!
Final 2010 summer camp dates available to view or download
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All of the finalized summer camp dates for 2010 have been posted online, and you can view or download them as a PDF file by clicking here. This year there are ten different camps to choose from, covering kindergarten through recent high school grads. All camps will take place at Disciples Crossing, our church camp in Athens.
While you're looking over those dates, mark your calendar for Camp Sunday on April 11. Our ministry assistant, Sharyn Peterson, will be set up in Fellowship Hall that morning to get you registered for summer camps and mission trips in time for the early bird deadlines.

A great way for UCC's youth (and adults!) to help Haiti
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From Anna Ro ss, Assistant Minister for Chi Rho:
Recently our Chi Rho and CYF youth groups experienced prayer stations focused on
Haiti during their Sunday evening meetings. One station invited participants to imagine going without food or water for
6 days while needing medical attention, then provided a handout describing hygiene and
baby care kits that Church World Service is sending to help in Haiti.
Youth (and adults) now have the opportunity to bring a
completed kit to the 3rd floor the next two weeks for a shipment to Haiti. For instructions on creating a kit, just click here and then bring your kit to Sunday school or youth groups on January 31 or February 7. This is one simple way that we can share our resources
and care for God's children, and we hope you'll be able to participate!
