Dear youth and parents, I'm excited to share that registration is now open for our two intergenerational retreats that are coming up January 15-17. Read below to learn more about Be: An Intergenerational Retreat for Women and the Soul Brothers Retreat for guys. Both are open to everyone 6th grade through adult, and they provide a great way for youth, college students, and adults all along life's journey to learn and grow together. Download a registration packet and spread the word to others!
I'm also excited to share that Sarah and I had our first ultrasound yesterday and found out that we'll be having a baby girl. Everything seemed healthy, and it also appears that her due date may be earlier than the original projection of May 1 (which Sarah was happy to hear). But enough about us, read on to see what's coming up for youth here at UCC!
Grace and Peace, Russ

CYF Ski Retreat pre-trip meeting - Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 8 p.m.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  Reminder to participants in the CYF Ski Retreat and parents: We will have a pre-trip meeting in Room 207 this Wednesday, December 16 at 8 p.m. (immediately following the special combined bell choir rehearsal). At the meeting we will be going over the trip schedule and packing list in detail, collecting forms and final payments, and answering your questions. All participants should be present with at least one parent.
If you have additional ski gear that you're willing to loan, please bring it to the meeting (and be sure to put your name on it). We'll set up an area where skiers can borrow clothing and equipment for the trip and hopefully save some money in the process.
CYF outing to Six Flags Holiday in the Park on December 19
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From Isaac Varner, Assistant Minister for CYF:
 Mark your calendar and prepare for a winter wonderland at
Six Flags on December 19! All interested high school youth will gather at UCC at 1:30 p.m., head to Six Flags to experience fun rides and shows, and be back
at the church by 8:30 p.m. In order to get discount tickets we need to know if
you are going. Please sign up at the church during youth group or Sunday
School, or e-mail me at isaac@uccftw.com with the number of tickets you will need. With enough
people going, we should be able to get tickets for under $20 (dinner and souvenirs are extra). We look forward to sharing the holidays with you!
Note for high school bell ringers: We are making arrangements for you to leave early for your bell choir commitment that evening so that you can still enjoy an afternoon at Six Flags.

Two youth schedule changes - update your calendars!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are two changes to our youth calendar, and I want to be sure you have the updated info to save the dates:
1. The 5th Annual Chi Rho Lock-In, originally scheduled for December 18, will take place on Friday night, April 23. We had a scheduling conflict arise here at the church, and it made sense to move the lock-in to a date when we'll have free reign in the building.
2. The TBA Outdoor Education Committee recently had to make some changes to the summer camp schedule at Disciples Crossing. As a result, Niner's Camp for youth currently in 9th grade will take place July 5-10 (originally the camp was scheduled for June 28 - July 3). All other camps will stay on their original dates.
