Dear youth and parents,
 
I hope that all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving this past week.  Sarah and I definitely enjoyed a few restful days with my side of the family in Virginia.  After we returned it was great to see so many of you participating in the Hanging of the Greens and in the special Advent kickoff at The Search.  Every year I hear from so many people who appreciate our youth leading us in worship as we decorate UCC's sanctuary for the seasons of Advent and Christmas.  All of the practice and dedication really makes a difference for so many in this congregation, so thank you to everyone who participated or attended!

This Sunday my Army Reserve unit will be having its annual family day and holiday party, so as the Chaplain I will be fulfilling one of my duties by assisting our Family Readiness Group (FRG) with the event.  FRG's are an incredible asset to military families, providing support and encouragement to soldiers, spouses, and children that's especially critical before, during, and after a deployment.  Click here to learn more about how FRG's help families overcome the challenges that are part of military life, and how you can help.
