Dear youth and parents, It's another busy Sunday in our youth ministry here at UCC. Our Jewish and Muslim neighbors will be coming over to our church for the second part of our Youth Trialogue series, youth (and parents) have an opportunity to attend Room in the Inn volunteer training at 12:15 p.m., and our youth groups will continue (and hopefully finish) planning Youth Sunday at The Search on Sunday evening. Three great opportunities to be involved in education, mission, and worship leadership -- I hope to see many of you there! On Sunday we will also begin taking registrations for the Soul Brothers Retreat, scheduled for January 15-17 and open to all guys 6th grade to adult. This intergenerational event at the beautiful Riverbend Retreat Center near Glen Rose will allow guys from multiple generations to grow closer to one another and to God through large group activities, small group discussions, and plenty of time for prayer and play. Stop by the sign-up table in the Gallery between 9:45 and 12:15 on Sunday morning to add your name to the list for this special event. Grace and Peace, Russ |
Youth Trialogue continues this Sunday at UCC
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
UCC's youth in grades 7-10 joined with Jewish and Muslim youth for the first session of a three-part "trialogue" on Sunday, October 25 at Beth-El Congregation. The series will continue this Sunday, November 8 when we welcome Jewish and Muslim youth to UCC for a program focused on Christianity. UCC's participants should meet in Fellowship Hall at 9:30 a.m. to prepare for our guests.
A couple of notes about the trialogue:
- This event will take the place of Chi Rho boys/girls and both CYF (grades 9-12) Sunday school classes. Faith Development Class will meet as usual.
- The official program begins at 10 a.m. and will conclude at noon.
- The final event will be hosted by our Muslim neighbors on November 15 at the Islamic Association of Tarrant County.
Next parking lot fundraiser - November 14 at 3:30 p.m.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
UCC's youth and parents have an
opportunity to raise money again on Saturday, November 14 by parking cars for the big TCU-Utah game. Each shift worked by
youth and/or parents earns credit toward registration costs for camps, mission
trips, and the ski retreat (plus funds for UCC's youth
ministry to use for scholarships and 3rd floor improvements). The last few games have brought in over $50 of credit per volunteer on average.
Volunteers should sign in by 3:30 p.m. on November 14. Kickoff will be at 6:30 p.m.

Mark your calendar for Youth Sunday at The Search - Nov. 15
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Make plans now to worship at The Search on November 15 at 5 p.m. as our middle and high schoolers lead the service. Youth will be planning worship and assigning parts at Sunday evening youth groups on November 1 and 8. This year's service will be part of the popular iFaith series at The Search that examines a different scripture and pop song each week to see how the two might inform or reflect the life of faith.
