Dear youth and parents,
Greetings to you this wonderful day. I hope you have stayed above the water. While Russ is away for his training, Anna and I will be sending out some helpful info. Please be sure to look through the many important events that are coming up. We have gotten off to a great start this school year and have lots left on the youth ministry plate.
This Saturday is our first parking lot day. This Sunday we will hold a ski trip informational meeting. We also need a count of CYF youth who will be attending CYF Day @ TCU on October 3rd this upcoming week. As usual, if you have any questions please contact us. Thank you and have a wonderful week.

TCU parking lot fundraiser this Saturday at 4 p.m.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  A new season of college football is upon us, and UCC's youth and parents have an opportunity to raise money by parking cars for TCU games. Each hour worked by youth and/or parents earns credit toward registration costs for camps, mission trips, and the ski retreat, as well as funds for UCC's youth ministry to use for scholarships and 3rd floor improvements. The first home game of the season is this Saturday, and all workers need to be present no later than 4 p.m.
Also, be sure to put the games below on your calendar. (Note: Time listed is for kickoff, not the time to be present to park cars.)

Saturday, September 19 - Texas State - 6 p.m.
Saturday, October 3 - SMU - 7 p.m.
Saturday, October 17 - Colorado State - 3 p.m.
Saturday, October 31 - UNLV - 3 p.m.
Saturday, November 14 - Utah - 6:30 p.m.
Saturday, November 28 - New Mexico - 12 p.m.
Thursday, December 31 - Armed Forces Bowl - 11 a.m.

CYF Day @ TCU is coming October 3 - reserve your tickets
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Come together with Disciple youth from across the region for good food,
campus tours, worship, a "5th quarter" after party, and (of course) the
annual rivalry match between the TCU Horned Frogs and the SMU
Mustangs.
Tickets for this game and a hot dog meal will be $9. This is a great deal but in order to reserve our tickets we need to know if you will be attending by September 23, next Wednesday. A signup sheet will be present this Sunday in the morning and evening.
After the game we will have a Fifth Quarter Event at UCC full of fun and activities. Bring $5 to participate in this event. CYF Day @ TCU is a fun event we encourage all of our high school youth to attend. See you there!

4:00 & 4:30 - Campus tours of TCU depart
5:15 - Welcome and door prizes from Dr. Jim Atwood
5:45 - Worship

10ish - 5th quarter afterparty in UCC Fellowship Hall

CYF Ski Retreat info meeting - Sunday at 6:30 p.m.

 All parents of high school youth are invited to an informational meeting about this year's CYF Ski Retreat this Sunday, September 20 at 6:30 p.m. in Room 211 (current Genesis, former Family Covenant classroom). We will discuss details about the trip to Crested Butte, Colorado that's scheduled for December 27-31, including pricing, lodging, fundraising, participation requirements, and more. Mark your calendar, and be sure to download a detailed info flyer here that will give you a head start on planning before the meeting.

 Missed the recent meeting for all parents of youth? Stop by the Youth Office and pick up a parent packet that includes a 12-month calendar of youth events and a directory of youth, volunteers, and staff. And while you're there, be sure to sign up for one of the many volunteer opportunities for parents this year. You can pick up a packet from Sharyn any weekday from 9-4, or ask one of the youth ministers on Sunday morning.
