Photo Ops!
We've had some GREAT photos ops over the past year. These are our faves! ~ People are always asking when we last saw a moose. Here is the best one from spring 2011!
~ Alexis was a beautiful ballerina in June. She remembered her steps!
~ After Irene came to town, we sent Sadie out driving the roads and checking local conditions. Here's "Driving Miss Sadie". ~ Kim took a drive on a back road in Ludlow in September. It was gorgeous! ~ Our "kitten" got bigger. Come see Phin for yourself!
~ We had a bumper crop of Peonies this summer. Can you smell them?
~ Kim took a class at VQF in June and worked on her class project, a Hawaiian quilt, all summer long. The cats tried to help as she was basting it for quilting. |

Greetings!
It's the time of year when we reminisce about the past year and wonder what the new year will bring. We remember with fondness the joys of each season: guests that return throughout the year and give us their own family updates; the excitement of the seasonal changes (gardens in full bloom, fall foliage or the first snow fall); the passing of mile-markers (anniversaries and birthdays celebrated). As we reminisce, we realize how lucky we are to know you and to be blessed with the tradition of your visits. A huge "thank you" for the many years you have been coming. The Colonial House is going into it's 43rd year; 33 years with the Nunnikhoven-Seymour family. Where did all THOSE years go!? We had a good year with the business (though we all could have done without a storm named "Irene"!) and our own family is doing well. Alexis continues to be the joy of our lives. In 2nd grade now, she is really anxious to be a teenager . . . something we aren't ready for yet! The highlight for her was her first ballet recital in June and being allowed to wear makeup! She's growing up way too fast! On the family news, David's kids are young adult s and marking their own mile markers. Libby is a sophomore in college after spending the summer in the Grand Tetons; Sam is a Senior in high school and heading to New Zealand for his last semester; Jack is taller than anyone, a sophomore in high school and working at Stratton for the winter. It seems they were just toddlers yesterday! Betty and John are fantastic! They are both still very busy with Prison Ministry and find it very rewarding in their "retirement". They took a wonderful summer trip to visit family in Montana and Arizona. Mom occasionally inn-sits for us so you may get to see her one Thursday night! Dad has published his 2nd book: Voices Together, Guide to Praying the Psalms, Volume 2. You can purchase an autographed copy here at the Inn or order it online as a paperback or downloadable E-book. How cool is that!? We didn't have a completely new recipe for you, but here's a link to our favorite meatball recipe. We make it with ground turkey, panko breadcrumbs and more herbs than are called for (can you ever get too much garlic?) and keep them made up in the freezer for our own meals (Alexis loves them). They've been a hit with the house guests especially the kids visiting over President's week in February. We've also posted the well-loved recipe for Butternut Bisque on our website since it is so often requested. There's a heart-healthy version coming soon; I had the original posted and we have modified it over the years to avoid the cream. We hope you enjoy these! As the winter season starts, we hope this finds you and yours doing well and looking forward to all the joys of the season. We hope your travels bring you here for a visit with us in the coming year . . . we look forward to being your hosts and to getting our annual updates! As you begin this holiday season may you be blessed with good health and happiness now and always!
Fondly and with best regards, Jeff, Kim and Alexis Seymour Your Innkeepers
