Dear CFA,
During the cancer treatment the everyday things become huge obstacles! Thank you very much for making our families obstacles a bit easier!
It meant so much to be remembered. Thank you,

Dear CFA,
Cancer is something that happens to the next person, and it was therefore rather surprising to be informed that I have inflammatory breast cancer.
I have learned of the generous supplies you gave to my family and I during my illness, and I would like to sincerely thank you for the kindness and assistance you have provided during my immobility. Individuals like you are few and far between. I am looking forward to getting well as soon as I get my clean bill of health.
Thank you again,
Ms. Nanton

Dear CFA,
I would like to express my most sincere thanks for the items that you send to me. When all of my disability goes for doctors or medicine you have to give up any necessities, such as make up, pantene shampoo, or electric toothbrushes... It was wonderful to receive your packages.
I had to discontinue my doctors orders for Boost three times a day and you have helped me to overcome that. The stampers and paint really was enjoyed by my granddaughter when she came to visit me.
You have greatly increased my quality of life that words can't describe. I am enclosing a $15 donation and thank God for your services.
Sincerely,
Ms. Jones

Pancreatic Cancer
Pancreatic carcinoma is cancer of the pancreas.
Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of death from cancer in the United States. The disease is slightly more common in men than in women, and risk increases with age.
The cause is unknown, but it is more common in smokers and in obese individuals. Almost a third of cases of pancreatic cancer are due to cigarette smoking. There is controversy as to whether type 2 diabetes is a risk factor for pancreatic cancer. A small number of cases are known to be related to syndromes that are passed down through families.

A Very Special Thank You:
Dear Staff at CFA,
In May, my mother received a wonderful package from you that included a variety of family items. One item was simple and inexpensive, but it is the one that has deeply touched our family...a pink plastic "princess" tablecover.
My mother and her four remaining sisters and daughters had a slumber party in February, which had a princess theme complete with a small tiara and goodie bag for each guest. Yes, twelve women ranging in age from 27 to 68 enjoyed an evening of food, drinks, laughter, and tears. Everyone left with the intention of having another quote "princess party" within the next year.
Mom passed away on July 19th. She really appreciated your family package, breakfast drink, waterproof pads, and briefs! Mom could not believe the generosity of an organization that did not even know her. (I think she showed it to everyone who came to visit!) But of all the items in the family pack, it will be the plastic "princess" tablecover that her sisters and daughters will enjoy at a future slumber party to remember my mom along with her two sisters who passes away before her.
So, a simple plastic tablecover that someone donated has and will definitely be enjoyed more than words can ever express. It's like someone knew what my mother needed to life her spirits that day in May... that wonderful day we received a family package and a pink plastic "princess" tablecover!!
With sincere appreciation and gratitude for your work and donation,
Jennifer,
(daughter)

About The Cancer Fund of America, Inc.

Starting as a Tennessee corporation in 1983, CFA reorganized into a national charity in 1987. The first real physical expansion after that came in 1992, when CFA moved to their new warehouse in Knoxville.
During the fall and winter of 1998, it became evident that CFA had to expand its Product Distribution Center in Knoxville, TN from a 15,000 sq. foot warehouse to one that almost doubled its storage capacity.
In 2002, CFA spent over $300,000 on shipping charges for delivery nationwide. Express trucks pick up pre-paid packages daily for delivery nationwide at NO cost to the indigent patients, hospices, and healthcare organizations. CFA serves over 70,000 indigent individuals direct or through hospice, home health, and other non-profit agencies nationwide.
(CFA employees, Brenda and Oots, opening up the daily mail.)
Cancer Fund of America enjoys a position that is unique among national agencies in that its number one priority is patient care, rather than research. We estimate this year that we will deliver over 500,000 various items of need to be used for the care of indigent individuals nationwide.
All items are shipped prepaid and free of charge, without cost to the recipient.
For over 20 years The Cancer Fund of America has worked to "Lift the Spirits" and "Gladden the Hearts" of children and adults who have no where to turn.
If you or someone you know has cancer, please call 1-800-578-5284 and ask for assistance. CFA serves thousands of cancer patients and hospices.
All of us here at CFA hope and pray for all of those affected by this devastating disease, cancer.
