VOTE FOR KRISTINA VANNI
A fellow Wildcat needs your help! I am a finalist in the Mario Batali Ultimate Grilling Challenge but in order to make it to the next step in the competition I need your votes!
Log on to       http://www.mariobatali.com/grillingcontest/
Then you can register and vote for me! My video is right there on the front page. (It's easy, I am wearing a pink shirt and I am the only girl!)
After registering you can vote for me by "ranking" my video as 5 STARS. (And because this is a competition, you can try and knock my competitors down in the ranks by giving them 1 STAR. It's kinda mean, but in the cut throat culinary world you gotta do what you gotta do...)
Thanks so much everybody! I am crossing my fingers that I make it to the next round!
Bon Appetit,
Kristina Vanni

When:  This Saturday, September 20th, Registration starts-7:30, Run starts-8a
How:    Pull into the parking structure on Radford this Saturday
Why:    a) It's free PLUS this year you get a free pancake breakfast, b) One of the most fun events in L.A., c) You'll support, with your presence, a worthy cause

Thank you for supporting Big Bob Boosters, if just by reading this!!
This third HDSA-LA 5K is special because a close family friend -- Big Bob, his son, and his family -- suffers from Huntington's Disease, and also because it extends awareness of this devastating disease for which there is no cure.
For those who may not know, any child of a parent with Huntington's Disease has a 50-50% chance of inheriting the disease and, as I said, there is no cure.  For those not big on exercise, there's free food. For those not big on early mornings, I guarantee you'll enjoy yourself, and you can sleep in Sunday (or next weekend)!

This year, for the 1st time, TarynReneau.com is sponsoring a (delicious!!) Pancake Breakfast after the 5K, just for you for showing up! Become a Big Bob Booster by joining us the morning of Saturday, September 20th at CBS Radford Studios. Walk, run, or just come and eat pancakes. Seriously.  The entire event is free. Donations are welcome but not required. The presence of you, your family, friends and colleagues is important enough. Please join me!
If you want more information or if you can't make the 5K and would just like to donate money toward research for Huntington's Disease or The Marion Dougherty Fund, please log on to: www.firstgiving.com/bigbobboosters.

Please call me or email with any q's, and please seriously consider coming.
*It's 3.2 miles, running or walking or run/walking (what I do) around the lot.
You won't regret it.
See your smiling face soon!!!
THANK YOU! :) Taryn 310.621.9016. Taryn@TarynReneau.com

20% OFF FALL PLAYWRIGHTING WORKSHOP WITH TREY NICHOLS
Saturdays 10am - 1pm
September 6, 13, 20, 27, October 4, 11, 18, 25
Trey Nichols is offering 20% discount to his fall playwriting workshop for NUEA West members.  The workshop is geared for intermediate to advanced playwrights, though new writers are welcome.  In a fun, supportive, and rigorous atmosphere, each playwright brings up to eight pages of new work to be read aloud and discussed in depth each week.  At the conclusion of the 8-week session, readings are held in a casual setting with local actors.  The aim of the workshop is to further the development of each playwright's unique voice and vision, with the goal of completing a one-act play or the first act of a full-length play by the end of the 8-week course. Many plays developed in the workshop have gone on to receive readings, workshops, and productions at theatres around the country.
Trey Nichols is a playwright, actor, and solo performer, and has written more than a dozen full-length and one-act plays, including THE MEADOWS, FATHERS AT A GAME, ONE SLIT HEAD, and BODY FOUND.  His solo show, A LESSON IN PROPER BOW-FLUFFING TECHNIQUE (Storey Productions/Moving Arts), was nominated for a 2005 Ovation Award for Solo Performance.  His most recent play, SUNNI TRIANGLE, received a staged reading in The War Plays Project, produced by playwright EM Lewis.  Trey is a company member and the former Literary Director of Moving Arts, the highly acclaimed theatre in Los Angeles where from 1995 to 2007 he produced and moderated the company's Playreading Series and aided in the development of many new plays by playwrights from all across the United States.  Trey received a B.S. in Theatre from Northwestern.  He is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America and the Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights.

The workshop is limited to eight playwrights. The venue is a private residence on LA's westside.
Fee is $250 ($200 for NUEA WEST members). For info about the next session or testimonials, e-mail treynich@gmail.com
