UPDATE

February 2010

FRIENDS:

Welcome to the first issue of our monthly newsletter, featuring updates about Scrub Brush Productions and our Youth Documentary Outreach Project: "Murder through the Eyes of a Child."  The Project engages seven talented teenagers from the New Orleans Metro Area in a year long intensive documentary class.  The teens will learn video production and storytelling techniques, and using their new skills to produce a documentary about violent crime in New Orleans.  Please take a moment to read more about our efforts with this important project.
We welcome any support or constructive feedback you might provide!  You may contact us with your ideas at crescentcityfilms@gmail.com.

Sincerely,
Scrub Brush Productions

February marks a Turning Point for
Scrub Brush Productions

Scrub Brush Productions is attracting significant community interest and support for giving local youth the resources to share their perspectives on violent crime.  On February 22nd "Scrub Brush" opened a new editing suite in Central City.  This workspace will serve as a resource for the neighborhood, and teens who are participating in the "Murder through the Eyes of a Child" documentary. In the months to come, Scrub Brush will document the efforts of community advocates who are working to make New Orleans a safer city.

If you're involved in a grassroots campaign to address violent crime in New Orleans, or interested in learning more about Scrub Brush Productions, we want to hear from you.  Please contact Producer, Alex Willson, at crescent.city.film@gmail.com, and connect with us on Facebook and MySpace.
