Greetings!
This has been a hard winter almost everywhere in the country. Now that we are into March, we can at least dream of warmer and sunnier times. A holiday that precedes the official arrival of Spring by only a few days is always cause for celebration. On St. Patrick's Day, everyone is Irish for 24 hours.
Unfortunately, dressing in green, wearing shamrock pins, or drinking green beer cannot guarantee you the luck of the Irish, especially when it comes to your mobile law office technology. Make your own luck - on St. Patrick's Day and beyond - by taking necessary precautions to protect your mobile equipment and your confidential client and law firm data residing on that equipment. It is always better to be prepared than lucky. Luck runs out. Preparation endures. This month's feature article will highlight ways to prepare for and prevent loss of your smart phone, notebook, or netbook PC, and the valuable data each contains.
We also bring you our regular newsletter features this month. Included are software tips for MS Word, PCLaw, and Time Matters, our Affinity University Schedule, an update on the fast-approaching ABA TECHSHOW 2010, Green Corner, and Current Versions of law office software we support.

It is always better to be prepared than lucky. We highlight things you can do to protect your mobile equipment and data. Read this month's feature article. |

Green Corner - Affordable Solar Cell Phone Charger
Until recently, solar-powered battery chargers and backup batteries were expensive impractical gadgets. Now, as solar power becomes more mainstream, we are beginning to see the first inexpensive solar chargers that are practical alternatives to plug-in chargers/batteries. An example of this new affordable breed of solar products is the Scosche solBAT II charger/backup battery for cell phones and other small USB chargeable devices. It will work with almost any cell phone, smart phone, and digital audio player (Blackberry, iPhone, iPod, etc.). The solar cell charges a built-in 1500ma lithium-ion battery that charges your phone or other portable device. Included is a suction-cup windshield mount. The solBAT II sells for less than $30. |
