| Holiday Greetings from Riverbend! |
|
From all of us here at Riverbend, we want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a wonderful new year!
2009 has been a great year for Riverbend! God has done some amazing things and that is mostly due to prayers of His people. Although Thanksgiving has past, join me in thanking God for these things:
- 10,043 campers and leaders during summer camp!
- 1,843 campers making spiritual decisions!
- Over 15,000 retreat guests!
- Completing the Waterfront Renovation!
- Completing Cabin 4 and beginning Cabin 5 renovation!
- Completing the renovation of water tower!
These are but a few of the more tangible things God has done...only He knows the full picture and results of the ministry here this year. While God receives the glory, there are many people involved in this ministry and I thank you for your support as you pray, give, bring groups, serve on the Boards/Committees and serve as advocates of Riverbend in your church. Thank you for remaining faithful during these challenging economical times!
In Jesus, Rejoicing,
Executive Director
P.S. The Worship Center project is perhaps one of the most critical needs we have had in years! Please read the article below for more information. |

Getting Back to the Heart of Worship! |
Your help is needed to get "Back to the Heart of Worship!" Riverbend partners with churches to reach out to over 10,000 campers and leaders each summer. While hundreds of these campers make life-changing decisions, we feel that even more young people can be reached by updating our worship facility to better communicate the gospel message.
When the Activities Center was built 10 years ago, it would serve as an interim summer camp worship center. The Board of Directors, staff and summer camp leaders have determined that it is time to remodel the gymnasium building into a Worship Center...it is time for RRC to make this essential update to our worship facility. Click Here to find out more about the Worship Center renovation and how you can be involved.

| Ladies' Nite Out at the Bend |
|

Raised in Tyler, Texas, Cynthia Culver now resides in Dallas. She spent four years at the University of Texas at Austin receiving her Bachelor of Science in Advertising in 1991. Following graduation in 2002, Cynthia worked full time at Watermark Community Church in Pastoral Care and as Director of Women's Ministry. She currently works with women and families focusing on emotional eating, body image issues, and family counseling.
As a result of God's healing and growth in her own life, Cynthia feels led to educate men and women on what the Bible says about eating and body image issues. Her prayer is that by helping people apply God's Word, will, and ways to their struggles that they would experience the blessing of being all He created them to be. One of her favorite verses is found in John 10:10 where Jesus says, "the thief comes only to steal, and kill and destroy; I came that they might have life and have it abundantly."
