Chad Hennings - Cowboy

Tuesday, October 7th
Meal Served  5:30pm
Program 7:00pm

Speaker: Chad Hennings
Former Dallas Cowboy and
 Three-Time Superbowl Champion

Although best known for his role with America's Team, the Dallas Cowboys, Chad Hennings' successes began long before his professional football career. An accomplished lineman in high school, Hennings was offered full scholarships from universities across the nation. Instead, he chose to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he racked up numerous honors academically and on the gridiron.

Chad is now a part of Wingmen DFW, which states "When a fighter pilot is in the midst of battle, he is not thinking of fighting for his family or flag.  He is fighting for his buddy flying next to him, his wingman.  As a warrior, he understands that his survivability and his success are dependent upon having that support immediately available when the battle begins.  In that spirit, this is what we, at Wingmen, stand for.  Our goal is to bring men together in a neutral setting where we can develop relationships with other men of God and deepen our relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  When we enter into battle we will not do it alone."

Music:  Whole Heart, back by popular demand, this dynamic gospel quartet will present a concert at the golf tournament, a pre-program concert and minister during the fish fry program.

Summer Camp Report and Waterfront Renovation Project
The attendance and decisions this summer broke records once again!  Riverbend hosted 10,192 campers and leaders during summer camp!  The following attendance and decisions were recorded:
  • 10,192 in Attendance
  • 760 Professions of Faith
  • 1,068 Rededications
  • 135 Called to Full Time Ministry

Praise God for His faithfulness in working in people's lives!

The Waterfront Renovation Project will increase participation and provide new recreation activities for summer camps.  Your help is needed to raise the funds for this project.  Recreation is a vital part of summer camp and these funds will  make improvements that will make it possible to reach more young people for Christ. Thank you for your involvement and for making a difference in the lives of boys and girls!

Cabin 4 Renovation Underway!
cabin 4 Thanks to the Pallmeyer Estate gift and help from Texas Baptist Men Camp Builders, Cabin 4 is receiving the "Extreme Makeover!"  The cabin will have a new, enlarged meeting room and additional bathroom space as well as the usual items such as new roof, windows siding, carpet and interior wall board and paint.  This is the first cabin to have the overlook deck built on the Brazos River Bluff.  Plans are to complete the project before summer '09.  If you have a group that can paint, build bunks and other carpentry projects, your help is needed.  Let us know if you would like to get involved.

Campers on Mission and a S.O.W.E.R. couple, Gary and Joline Hambrick, are also working at Riverbend.
