Lamp Exchange Coming to The Forum August 27-28

REMINDER:  Southern California Edison will hold a two day lamp exchange in the parking
lot of the Forum in Inglewood the weekend of August 27-28.  Starting at 8:00 am on Saturday morning, SCE is expecting record crowds, so plan to arrive early with up to 10 of your old energy-sucking lamps and exchange them for new, free, energy efficient ones.   Your old lamps must be in working condition with their current light bulbs in the sockets, but please leave the lamp shades home!

Water Reliability 2020 - Speakers Available

If your club, community organization or group needs a speaker to round out a program, please give SBESC a call at (310) 371-7222, x 206,  and we can arrange for an expert to give a 30 minute presentation on Water Reliability 2020, and how each person can contribute to the effort
to reduce dependence on less reliable imported water to coastal LA from 66% all the way down to 33% by the year 2020.    Remember, every drop counts.

A new Ocean Friendly Garden Workshop has been scheduled in Inglewood on August 6 at the Central Baptist Church.  Check out the August Events section below for more information.

L.A. Metro
vanpool

Think "Carmageddon"

According to Metro, there are 237 miles of carpool lanes in Los Angeles.  WHY waste your time in traffic?

Vanpools are similar to carpools, but they

involve more people, bigger vehicles and longer commutes.  Add bigger savings:  you will spend less on fuel, give your own vehicle a rest, and increase quality time during your commute.  Don't forget the monthly subsidy of up to $400 to qualified vanpools.    It's a no-brainer!

To schedule a Vanpool meeting at your business, or if you would like a copy of a beautiful brochure that says all of the above and more, call SBESC at (310) 371-7222 and ask for either Martha or Grace.

Earning the Energy Star Label

It's Not Easy

ENERGY STAR is the trusted, government-backed symbol for energy efficiency helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy-efficient products and practices.

The ENERGY STAR label was established to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants caused by the inefficient use of energy, and make it easy for consumers to identify and purchase energy-efficient products that offer savings on energy bills without sacrificing performance, features, and comfort.
