This Sunday at Fellowship Dallas...
This Sunday we welcome guest speaker Dr. Haddon Robinson, who joins us to deliver a special Father's Day
message.
Dr. Robinson is Distinguished Professor of Preaching at
Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts. A
native of New York City, Dr. Robinson taught preaching on the faculty
of Dallas Theological Seminary for 19 years and was president of Denver
Conservative Baptist Seminary for twelve years. Dr. Robinson is widely regarded as an expert in the area of preaching.
Most recently, he was given the 2008 Living Legend Award at the Living
Legend Luncheon sponsored by E. K. Bailey Ministries, Inc. He was named
one of the 12 most effective preachers in the English-speaking world in
a 1996 Baylor University poll and was later also named among
Christianity Today International's Top 25 Most Influential Preachers
from 1956-2006. Don't miss this special service!
Last Sunday:
Seen any good sermons lately? The best sermons are not the ones
preached on Sunday but the ones lived out on Monday. You may be
familiar with the words credited to St. Francis of Assisi, "Preach the
Gospel at all times and when necessary use words." He also said, "It is
no use walking anywhere to preach unless our walking is our preaching."
In other words our beliefs cannot be separated from our behavior
anymore than our head can be separated from our body. Last Sunday Gary
Brandenburg (Sunday morning) and Gabe Gilliam (Metro) identified two
alien beliefs; that salvation and suffering are both gifts from God.
This Sunday we will explore two alien behaviors as we continue the
sermon series, "Exiles."
