Success in the City CEO, Cynthia de Lorenzi, Wins 2009 SmartCEO BRAVA! Women Business Achievement Award; Recognizes as One of Greater Washington's Top Female Leaders
Success in the City announced today its CEO, Cynthia de Lorenzi, has received a Washington SmartCEO 2009 BRAVA! Women Business Achievement Award, which recognizes 25 female CEOs who have been able to not only grow successful companies, but are actively involved in giving back to the community through philanthropic acts.
The 25 winners of the third annual BRAVA! Award were celebrated at SmartCEO's BRAVA! Awards event, held on July 16, 2009 at The Tower Companies, 2000 Tower Oaks Boulevard, Rockville, MD.
Each winner is also profiled in the print and digital July issue of SmartCEO, in which over 34,000 business owners will see and read their stories. The winners are selected by an independent panel of business leaders. This year's winners support over 100 nonprofit organizations and charities across the Greater Washington region. "BRAVA! Women Business Achievement award recipients are not only selected and recognized for their success in growing a company, but for demonstrating leadership throughout the Greater Baltimore community. This is a unique combination of attributes that any CEO should be inspired by.

Winners, SmartCEO and Rockville Economic Development have partnered to honor three innovative women-owned companies for their exemplary business plans. Now in its sixth year, the StartRight! Women's Business Plan Competition is open to Maryland, District of Columbia and Virginia businesses that are at least 51% women-owned and have been in operation for two years or less.
This year, forty applicants submitted business plans for consideration.
