Congratulations George & Iouli! Dutch Fork produced two state finalists in the Class 4A high school individual wrestling championships: George Holstead (130) and Iouli Burroughs (215).
Holstead, unable to compete in the past two state tournaments due to injuries, earned his first state title by outscoring Summerville's Eli Ashby 7-5 in overtime. "You don't give up just because it's the state championships," Holstead said. "The only thing going through your mind is you can make it. I just held on, and it ended up real good for me."
Burroughs defeated Hillcrest's Matt Broad 9-4. "I love having someone to celebrate with; I wish there were more of us here. I'm proud of him and I know he's proud of me," Burroughs said.
Congratulations guys, we're proud of you!

Looks vs. Health Women who exercise primarily for its effect on their looks might be more motivated if they instead focused on their health. In a study led by Thomas D. Raedeke, a sport psychologist at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, women took a single workout class. With half of the participants, the instructor wore tight-fitting exercise clothes and made comments such as "Stand tall, you'll look five pounds tighter" or "Let's get your legs toned so they look good," plus "Burn calories!" With the others, she wore shorts and a t-shirt and encouraged them with "Shoulders back for good posture" or "Let's get fit and healthy." All the subjects had tested high in sensitivity to judgment of their bodies and the urge to exercise to improve their looks. Those who did the more health-focused workout "felt better overall and reported feeling more engaged and revitalized" than the others, the researchers say, and had stronger intentions of joining an ongoing class. Although appearance is an important motivator, fitness and mood benefits are usually what sustain regular physical activity, Raedeke says.
