What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many elite and professional athletes worldwide.  The program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. The same routines have been used for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. Thousands of athletes worldwide have followed CrossFit workouts and distinguished themselves in combat, the streets, the ring, stadiums, gyms and homes.

That's right !  As South Carolina's newest affiliate, Athlete's Arena is bringing CrossFit to town in a BIG way!  If you are already familiar with the stable of CrossFit exercises, then starting with the WOD (Workout of the Day) at http://CrossFit.AthletesArena.com is a perfect place to start.  Otherwise, read on for more information!
 
The WODs
Aka, the "Workout of the Day." The great folks at CrossFit post a workout for each day, and we bring them to you. Try to use 55% of your weight, or a weight that's manageable to you. Where our terminology or an exercise is unfamiliar, you can immediately acquaint yourself with the movement by finding the video clip for the movement from our Exercise Descriptions link on the site.
The Classes
You can do the WODs on your own, or join us for an awesome CrossFit class during one (or ALL) of the following weekly times!
 
Mondays @ 7 & 8 AM
Tuesdays @ 8 & 9 AM
Wednesdays @ 7 & 8 AM
Thursdays @ 8 & 9 AM
Fridays @ 7 & 8 AM
Saturdays @ 8 AM
The Trainer
Shane Miller As Athlete's Arena's Personal Trainer, Shane Miller dedicates himself to coaching individuals on how to improve their overall fitness level.  He specializes in working with all ages and training levels to develop techniques for improving flexibility and balance, increasing strength levels, promoting healthy body composition and increased cardio respiratory output for a higher work capacity.

Shane's training techniques employ a variety of philosophies to achieve results for each individual no matter what their goal may be.

Shane is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association and KettleBell Concepts.  Shane's most recent accomplishment is receiving certification through CrossFit, a revolutionary training system for the development of elite fitness for all ages.
