We find out what kids love to see and do at the Manitoba Children's Museum because we ask them!
Kids are encouraged to join the Children's Advisory Council (CAC) and share their opinions on museum programs and events.
Council Members will receive a FREE 6-month Family Membership to the Manitoba Children's Museum and tickets to attend events free of charge in exchange for their insights at three short meetings held on the first Saturday of January, March and May in 2010.
Spaces on our Children's Advisory Council are limited. Contact Sara Hancheruk at (204) 924-4003 for eligibility criteria and to learn more about your child becoming a Council Member today!

Volunteer Team!
Upcoming special events and the holiday season offer several opportunities for MCM volunteers!
If you don't yet volunteer at MCM, the holiday season is a great time to start, and there is still time to sign up.
The Manitoba Children's Museum offers volunteer roles in the following areas:
- children's programming
- preschool and school programs
- gallery activities
- special events
- SHOP
- and more!
MCM offers our volunteers:
- a great team environment
- flexible schedules
- training and coaching
- experience in career-related areas
- and more!
New volunteers are welcome. Contact us now to complete the application process. Volunteers need to be at least 13 years old and begin the application process by attending an information session. (Note: If you are under 18 years old, your guardian must attend as well.)

Through daily interactions with kids and observing kids interact with others, the staff at the Manitoba Children's Museum continually see ways in which adults can show kids that they care. We are confident these interactions help build the foundation for kids to succeed.
Every month, our staff would like to share some of the ways we believe we can show kids that we care about them.November's List 1. Play "boy" games with girls.
2. Play "girl" games with boys.
3. Keep your promises or ask for forgiveness when you can't.
4. Help kids solve their own problems without solving them for them.
5. Don't let the TV or the Wii be your babysitter. |

MCM's gallery displaying children's artwork on the Mezzanine is open for viewing Monday to Friday.
The kindergarten artists from St. Alphonsus School would like us to enjoy their art themed "Fall is All Around Us." These enthusiastic artists took a nature walk around their school and gathered leaves. They then did leaf printing around the border of their art in several fall colours. After completing the border, these creative kids painted their hands and arms brown, pressed them into the paper, and created a tree trunk and branches. Painted fingers created colourful dots representing leaves. A big thank you to teacher Mrs. Elissa Mattis and a standing ovation to these creative artists.

 Help us offer creative learning opportunities to children! Access Month is a fundraising event that allows you to donate to the Free Access Program at the Manitoba Children's Museum. This program brings children from the inner city to the Manitoba Children's Museum for school visits, day camps, holiday parties and after-school clubs FREE OF CHARGE! 4th Annual Sobeys Way Off Broadway Dance Extravaganza
 LAST CHANCE FOR TICKETS!
Join us at Pantages Playhouse Theatre at 2:30PM on Sunday, November 8 to watch the dance competition in support of the Manitoba Children's Museum. Groups of friends, family and co-workers have been rehearsing for hours in anticipation of the big day! Celebrity judges Ace Burpee from HOT 103, Tracy Koga of Shaw TV and Craig Larkins of Global TV will determine the 2009 Way Off Broadway Champions. All proceeds from funds raised and ticket sales benefit the Manitoba Children's Museum.
Prizes are awarded for Most Original Performance, Most Enthusiastic Performance, Best Costume, Audience Choice, Top Fundraising Team, and Highest Pledge Average Team.

Mondays at the Manitoba Children's Museum are very special days! Every Monday from 10:00AM to 2:00PM, we tailor crafts and activities to suit the needs of our youngest visitors. The Manitoba Children's Museum is pleased to be the home of the last original Eaton's Santa's Village display from the ninth floor annex of Eaton's Downtown Store - fully restored and open to the public for a limited time only!
From November 14 to January 10, visitors of all ages will be enthralled with the spirit of the season invoked by fifteen fun, fairytale vignettes, including classics like Cinderella, Humpty Dumpty, Three Blind Mice and more. A visit to Santa's Village is a holiday experience for all generations.
