Manito Ahbee: Pow Wow 101
On October 10 from 11:00AM to 3:00PM, join us for a teaser Pow Wow 101 performance from the Manito Ahbee Festival!
A major component for the Manito Ahbee Festival is the International Competition Pow wow. The dancers have always been a very important part of the First Nations people, and while most dancers seen at Pow wows today are social dancers, they had different meanings in earlier days. Although dance styles and content have changed, their importance has not.
Come see dancers wearing a variety of costumes, each with its own regalia, meaning and history, including: Men's Traditional, Men's Grass Dance, Men's Fancy Bustle, Women's Fancy Shawl, and Women's Jiggle Dress. |
