 | Kelly Tippens |
Sat Nov 5th
10am-1pm: 8-12 yrs 2:30-5:30: 13-adult If you are an Atlanta Actor, chances are that you have, or at some point in your career will appear before Kelly Tippens in an audition. As one of Atlanta's premiere casting directors, having the opportunity to learn what she expects in a great audition directly from her is invaluable. So we are excited to have Kelly back to work with Atlanta actors. Last time she taught a seminar at our studio, she was so impressed with some of our beginner actors that she recommended them to top agents. Of course they were signed! In this workshop, actors will work one on one with Kelly simulating real auditions from projects she has cast. Actors will work not only with scripts, but with audition improv techniques as well. Actors will be filmed and feedback will be provided to all actors. Don't miss your chance to get to know one of Atlanta's top casting directors, Kelly Tippens! Space is limited to 15 actors per class. Kelly Tippens Bio: Kelly Tippens was first introduced to the film industry in 1998 when she was asked to stand in for Sandra Bullock in Forces of Nature. After spending 3 months on set with an amazing crew, unlimited food, and exotic locations, she thought, "This is paradise! I want to do this forever." However, she soon learned that most sets are a far cry from paradise...but it was too late, her love affair with the film industry had begun. Over the years Kelly has worked as a crew member and/or actress on such films and television shows as: Savannah, Sweet Home Alabama, Miss Lettie and Me, Dumb and Dumberer, The Fighting Temptations, American Idol Season 2, BET's Comic View, HBO's Warm Springs, and Butter (Oct 2011 release). In 2007 she opened kellyCASTING and is now one of Atlanta's busiest commercial casting directors. A few of her recent credits include Havertys, GA Lottery, Delta, American Express, Ford, Kia, Toyota, Verizon, and the animated Christmas movie "An Elf's Story: The Elf On the Shelf" making it's network premier this November. |

Take Charge of your Acting Career Seminar Learn how to find and book your own jobs
Learn how to network in the industry
Learn how to build and cultivate relationships
Learn how to know what's filming or upcoming in Georgia
Sunday Nov 6th: 2pm-4pm $50 a person Taught by Nicolle Campbell, Owner, The Actor's Scene
Don't have an agent, but want to work in the film/tv industry anyway? Don't know how to get started or how to find out what projects are casting in Georgia? Have an agent but want to audition more? Willing to work on low budget/no budget projects to gain on set experience and build your network of contacts?
This 2 hour seminar will teach you strategies on how to find your own auditions and castings. As a actor or performer in the entertainment industry, it's your job to be your own salesperson. Stop waiting around for your agents call and learn how to network and be proactive in building your own career. "There's a reason why agents get only 10% commission and actors get 90%," says LA agent Kristine Wallis. "Because agents are only supposed to do 10% of the work. It's up to the actor to do the other 90%."
In this seminar, Nicolle Campbell will teach the actor specific strategies for finding auditions, networking, building your rosters of contacts, and cultivating those contacts into a working business relationships. "I will take my 15 + years of industry knowledge and give it to performers so they can take charge of their own careers," says Actor's Scene owner Nicolle Campbell. "I have learned so many strategies and tips that I am willing to share so that others in this industry can use my knowledge as a shortcut and not have to waste time learning them!" According to Campbell, taking charge of your own career is a vital step in the formula to success. It benefits the actor in so many ways and puts them on a faster track then just simply trying to get an agent and then waiting for the agent to call. The seminar will include information on paid and non paid castings, where to find them, how to keep knowledgeable in the industry in Georgia, developing relationships and how to keep them going, marketing yourself and being your own publicist plus a whole lot more. This process is good for both people who have an agent, and for those who don't! And even if you have an agent, the more you book on your own, the more experience you gain and the more valuable you become to your agent. So it's a win/win all the way around. This seminar is great for parents with children in the industry, older teens and adults. Space is limited to 50 people! You can register online at www.theactorsscene.com or by calling us at 770-904-6646. |
