Maifest With A Special Tribute To Mom May 7-9 | | |
Come Join In The Fun At noon on Saturday you hear the Alp horn opening the annual Maifest celebration. A wave of town people wearing lederhosen (leather pants) and dresses (dirndls) parade down along with goats, horse-drawn wagons, and Bernese Mountain dogs. Flowers are blooming in baskets throughout the town. This is all set in a picture postcard setting with snowcapped mountains, vibrant green hills, lush evergreens and the smells of gingerbread and bratwursts permeate the senses.
Oompa music plays while traditional folk dancers prepare the crowd for the popular maibaum dance. Local bands perform throughout the afternoon and artists are displaying their wares. Sunday it's all about Mom with special discounts, flowers, raffles, a Mother-Daughter Look Alike Contest and prizes. See Schedule |

Peshastin Pinnacles Peshastin Pinnacles State Park is a 34-acre desert park featuring a group of sandstone slabs and spires called "the Pinnacles." Climbable spires reach 200 feet into the air. Rocks and trails provide views of surrounding orchards, the Enchantment Mountain Range, and the Wenatchee River valley.
Even if you aren't a rock climber, it's a great day hike. A series of trails lead from the shaded picnic area up and around the sandstone rock formation. It's a short drive just East of Leaveworth. |
