| OCTOBER LUNCHEON | 
We have a full month planned for October!
The luncheon for this month will be one that links you with members of, not only the Carol Stream Chamber, but also three other chambers, and held on October 12th. We'll hold the Multi-Chamber Progressive Luncheon at Glendale Lakes this year and members from Addison, Glendale Heights and Bloomingdale chambers will join us. Arrive early, because this takes a little longer than the usual, but it's well worth it. 11:00 Registration; BEGINNING PROMPTLY AT 11:30.
A 'progressive' luncheon allows you to meet three tables of business professionals. You'll have your soup or salad at the first table, your entree' at the second, and your dessert at the third. At each session, a table facilitator will help move the conversation so you discover more about your tablemates, and they, you.
Register before Friday, October 7th, 5pm, so we'll have time to prepare the 'rounds' and nametags, that will have the three tables numbers you'll be assigned to. I think you will find it a valuable event and don't forget to bring at least 50 business cards. There will be a brochure table at the event, too. Sorry, no walk-ins can be accepted at this event. TWO AFTER HOURS IN OCTOBER |
Our After Hours for October will be hosted by Community Bank-Wheaton/Glen Ellyn on Thursday, October 20th from 5:30-7:30pm. The bank, located at 1901 N. Gary in Wheaton, will have some delicious appetizers and refreshments for us while attendees engage in relaxing AND networking. This event is the perfect stop in your busy week to build your contacts, so don't forget to always have a great stack of business cards with you. Register online at this link.

| WOMEN IN BUSINESS NEWS | |
 The Women in Business group had a very pink event last week, as the 5th annuall "What Women Want" Expo allowed 55 exhibitors to show and sell their wares. In all, approximately 300 people were networking and shopping, being pampered and inspired. For a list of all involved and photos of the event, click this link.
2011 wraps up with the WIB event November 16th, called the "Polka Dot Progressive Luncheon". Expected are over 225 attendees who will take networking to a whole new level. They will 'progress' from table to table and the table number will be determined by the toss of the dice (no gambling involved)! The dots on the dice become the Polka Dot theme, and attendees dress accordingly.
Men and women are both invited, as we will be joined at the Holiday Inn & Suites by 14 other chambers! The Philanthropy will be unwrapped children's gifts which will go to the Carol Stream Police Dept/Social Services project, CHRISTMAS SHARING, which benefits those in need in the community.
