LUNCHEON/RSVP POLICY

Our Luncheon/RSVP Policy is that attendees pre-register for all chamber luncheons, regular monthly luncheons as well as Women In Business luncheons. When you pre-register, we are better able to plan with the restaurants we are dealing with for the right amount of meals. Pre-registration (RSVP) must be done 3 business days prior (Friday noon for a Wednesday luncheon) and walk-ins will not be able to be accommodated. Some luncheons require earlier response. Member Fee for a regular luncheon is $25 and non-members are $30 pre-paid. Cancellation and no-shows will be charged $25. Payment will be expected in advance or at the door; no invoicing available. Some luncheons with other groups or special events may have different fees. Be sure to RSVP to only one chamber for Multi-chamber events. We do appreciate your consideration and cooperation on this policy. Please call Luanne Triolo Newman  if you have any further questions on this matter (630) 665-3325.

JANUARY...A STRONG START TO  2011

Have you made New Year's resolutions? If one of them is to do more networking and learn more about businesses, January is a great month to  'exercise' those resolutions.

Four strong events take place in 1/11 - a Progressive luncheon, a WIB luncheon, an After Hours and a first-time event, BOOTh Camp.

Our 'regular' luncheon is special this month, as it's a Progressive and Multi-chamber event on January 20th at Bloomingdale Golf Club. Members from the following chamber are involved in this: Addison, Carol Stream, Bloomingdale, Hanover Park, Bartlett, and Roselle. Note that you should arrive early -- 11am -- because we START at 11:30.

Our 'regular' After Hours will be hosted by someone who I just could not describe as regular. Dick O'Gorman of Ivy in Wheaton will be hosting the January 20th After Hours from 5:30-7:30pm. A past director from the chamber board, Dick is a strong supporter of the Carol Stream Chamber.

The January 12th Women In Business luncheon and the January 13th Booth Camp are listed below with more information. All in all, a busy January 2011!

BOOTH CAMP/NETWORKING LUNCHEON JANUARY 13th
New to the events schedule this year is an opportunity to network, enjoy a free lunch, and learn about being an exhibitor. Why, you might ask, should I learn about being an exhibitor?

Presenters Marybeth Bittel/American Slide Chat/Perrygraf and Heidi Thorne/Thorne Communications will share their Expo Exper-tise with us. Yes, some exhibitors just sit behind a table, hoping to have someone stop by for their handouts. You'll hear tried and true successful ideas for your booth at this BOOTh Camp.

Also available at the January 13th event (11:30am-1:30pm) will be businesses who can help you prepare your booth with: signs, printed materials, promotional items, and more.

All this is in preparation for the February 18th "Five Star Business Expo" so there will be members from the 5 chambers involved attending. Call today to save a seat at the Jan. 13th BOOTh Camp!
ANYONE can attend; whether you have a booth in the expo or not, it will be a great networking Op. Members: FREE. Non-members: $20

WOMEN IN BUSINESS NEWS

searchlightThe Women In Business Committee has planned the entire year for 2011 and we feel the events have alot to offer.  January 12th is the start -- we'll have powerful speaker Ellen Lerner who will share her presentation "Keeping Your Business Fit with a Powerful Performance" at John & Tony's from 11:30-1. What better way to start the year than hearing how your business can 'shine'?

Our next WIB luncheon will be February 23rd when the Momnificent Coach, Lori Radun will talk about "Conquering the Procrastination Plague". We'll gather at Ballydoyle in Bloomingdale for this luncheon.

 R O C S !  - A LEADS GROUP

Our chamber members love to network!  A year ago, we began, ROCS! --"Referral Organization of Carol Stream" with the purpose to meet regularly and pass leads or referrals.

If a leads group would benefit your business, consider visiting a ROCS meeting, the first and third Wednesday mornings of each month, 7:45am to 9am. Meetings are  held at Augustino's Rock & Roll Deli at the corner of Schmale Road and St. Charles Road in Carol Stream. Click here for details...and ...stop by!

WEDDING EXPO APRIL 9th

The Carol Stream Chamber has added a new and exciting opportunity to the plethora of events regulary offered - a Wedding Expo.

In these tough economic times, it seems many are spending the same $$$ if not more on weddings. Many of our members have businesses that dovetail with the wedding industry and we feel it will be beneficial to offer this benefit to them.

Saturday, April 9th from 11am to 4pm at the Holiday Inn & Suites will be the 1st annual Wedding Expo. A committee is meeting on Tuesday, January 11th to nail down the details so we can distribute the registration application later this week. We will be looking for businesses such as:

Venue / Catering/Restaurants/Hotels, Transportation, Wedding planner, Video/Photographer, Jewelry, Invitations/Announcement printing, Signs/banners for events, Entertainment/DJ, Flowers, Gifts, Health/beauty/fitness, Attire, and more.

We will offer exhibits for brides, bridesmaids and grooms, including a special area known as the "Man Cave". When the applications are out, there will be more details with sponsorship levels and opportunities.

Call the chamber office if you would like to be on the Wedding Expo Committee.
