 Luncheon Policy Update

There is a new Luncheon Policy beginning July 11, 2008 which requires attendees to pre-register for all chamber luncheons, regular monthly luncheons as well as Women In Business luncheons. When you pre-register, we are better able to plan with the restaurants we are dealing with for the right amount of meals. Pre-registration (RSVP) must be done 3 business days prior (Friday noon for a Wednesday luncheon) and walk-ins will not be able to be accommodated. Cost for member lunch will be $25 and non-members are $30 pre-paid. Cancellation and no-shows will be charged $25. Payment will be expected in advance or at the door; no invoicing available.  We do appreciate your consideration and cooperation on this new policy. Please call Luanne Triolo if you have any further questions on this matter (630) 665-3325.

Hi, Chamber members!!

In between our quarterly mailed newsletters, we like to keep our members updated on the monthly events.

Fire up the palm pilots, open Outlook or take out your planner and mark down these dates. These events are great opportunities to network, build relationships, thus building your business. Join us! If you know someone who could benefit from our organization, please feel free to forward this to them.

Happy Summer!
"Pitch Your Business" on Aug. 13th

Our luncheon for August will feature an original program of the Carol Stream Chamber of Commerce, now an annual summertime event, "Pitch Your Business".

Want to 'get the word out' about YOUR business? Here is your chance to do it. It's an event you won't want to miss. Really.

Progressive After Hours Aug. 21st!

Usually an After Hours involves going to one of our chamber member's place of business for a two hour networking event.
August 21st, we will hold a Progressive After Hours in the shops at the Fountains at Town Center, Gary and Lies Road (northwest corner), from 5:30-7:30pm.

What is a Progressive After Hours? We'll begin as we park in the lot behind Carol Liquor and Tobacco (just east of the stores). We will be visiting: Carol Liquor and Tobacco, Brew House Cafe, Gossip Salon, Connie's Electrolysis Skin Care, Massage Clinique, Hot Spot Hot Dogs and Flip Flops Tiki Bar and Grill. Attendees are encouraged to visit each member, grab a snack or treat of some kind, and network with their fellow chamber members in attendance. Each store will hand out a playing card (no gambling involved). When it's all said and done...and over at 7:30pm, the one who holds the best hand will receive a giveaway. Are you game? RSVP today.

2nd Annual "What Women Want" Expo

What DO women want?

Carol Stream Chamber Logo It may include chocolate. It may involve shopping. Do women like to be pampered? Are they genuinely interested in awareness when it comes to their health?

There will be an entire EXPO devoted to all the above and more! Visit the 2nd Annual "What Women Want" Expo on September 25th between 11am and 7pm and get answers. Women - get pampered, shop, enjoy!

Chamber Cruise -- Have YOU Signed Up?

Yes, it IS true. The Carol Stream Chamber of Commerce is planning a 5-night Western Caribbean Cruise, sailing February 21 from Tampa, FL to Costa Maya, Mexico and Belize City, Belize.

Will you need to get away from the ice, snow, and nasty cold weather in Chicago around February? We all will! Who can go on this event? This cruise is open to chamber members, families and friends and is being held in conjunction with the DuPage Professional Women's Network. We're calling it "Fun in the Sun Networking Cruise 2009" as this will be the epitome of social networking and fun rolled up into one!

We will be sailing on Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas and Judy Riley at CruiseOne is our coordinator. As of today we have 33 people going and 16 staterooms reserved.  It's a great start!

Some of the highlights are:
  • Special All-inclusive pricing
  • $75 Onboard Credit per stateroom
  • TWO All-inclusive Cocktail Parties
  • Networking with colleagues from two organizations
  • Shore excursions, full casinos, duty free shopping, etc.
  • 5 days with no scheduling, planning, cooking, cleaning nor dishwashing!!
  • PLUS - Rock climbing wall, Fitness Center, Adventure Ocean Youth Program, World Class nightclub, Six hot tubs and a Luxurious Day Spa

You can learn more about pricing and availability, as well as shore excursions and more at
