Village of Carol Stream "Community Pride Awards"
Each year the Village offers "Community Pride Awards."
The purpose of this program is to recognize Carol Stream property owners (or renters), both residential and non-residential, who have landscaping features or building fa�ade improvements that enhance the streetscape image of their neighborhood, improve property values, and encourage their neighbors to make similar improvements. These property owners (or renters) have taken the initiative to make sure that what is seen from the street is something that they are proud of.
Chamber members can try for an award by 'sprucing up' their properties, being a judge, or nominating a fellow business in town.

Luncheon Policy Update There is a new Luncheon Policy that began in January 2008 which requires attendees to pre-register for all chamber luncheons, regular monthly luncheons as well as Women In Business luncheons. When you pre-register, we are better able to plan with the restaurants we are dealing with for the right amount of meals. Pre-registration (RSVP) must be done 3 business days prior (Friday noon for a Wednesday luncheon) and walk-ins will not be able to be accommodated). Cost for member lunch will be $20 and non-members are $25 pre-paid. Cancellation and no-shows will be charged $20. We do appreciate your consideration and cooperation on this new policy. Stop by Chamber member Culver's on APRIL 30th between 10am and 10pm to have a delicious meal and support the Carol Stream Parade at the same time. Lunch -- dinner - frozen custard!!! Steve and Amy at Culver's - 290 S. Schmale in Carol Stream -- will donate 10% of all sales to support the 4th of July Parade. Consider being a part of the parade and view a parade application/form on the website - www.carolstreamparade.com -- be a part of this community event!!! Get Culverized, too!
Speaking of Community Events, the Carol Stream Rotary Club will sponsor a Community Blood Drive on April 30th at the Village Hall, 500 N. Gary Avenue, Carol Stream from 2:30-7pm on Wednesday. Walk-ins are accepted or call ahead @ 630.868.6307 - DONORS NEEDED!! |

Luncheon for May
The "State of the Village" is always a very popular networking event. Join fellow business professionals and community leaders at this May 14th luncheon at the Holiday Inn from 11:30-1pm.
Mayor Frank Saverino will present his first 'State of the Village' since being elected last Spring. In addition to being our Mayor, Frank is also a fellow business owner - Saverino & Associates.
Get your name out there as you meet and greet fellow chamber members and their guests. Bring a colleague or a friend who is a non-member if you think they could benefit from chamber membership.
RSVP before Friday May 9th.
Remember, you can always go to the EVENTS calendar on our website ahead of time and register for any of the events. When you click on REGISTER ONLINE be sure to click on the special chamber discount/GO link to get the $20 rate. You will need your login and password. Contact us if you need yours or ask the "Primary Rep" at your company. Registering online does save us in the office a lot of time but we are always willing to help you -- just call or email us. |
